......can you give some motivating comments to those who are just starting out?
For me personally, although I have only achieved about 25% of my goal, I am astounded by the extra energy I have (even though I'm eating 800 or so less calories than I used to!)

One thing I kept telling myself when my goal weight seemed a long way away and I wondered if it was going to be worth the effort and time (3+ years) I just reminded myself that that time was going pass regardless - so I could put in the effort and be happy with myself and where I was in 3 years time, or still miserable and hiding away from life. No Brainer right?0

Funny I just thought about that today as I was riding my bike
I'm waking up every morning excited that I CAN FINALLY do a workout and enjoy it0 -
Here are my mid-way pictures:

I didn't think twenty-odd pounds made that much difference until I saw them!
I'm also finding a circular benefit in my fitness. I run faster to get fitter and slimmer, and the fitter and slimmer I get, the faster I can run!0 -

Great Job so far on 25% and yes I agree on the more energy. And as far as your 800 calories less you probably dont realize it but you are eating such good foods that you are getting way more nutrients in your calories that your eating now than you were... Keep up the great job!!!!0 -
I say it all in my signature.
It does not need to be painfull, hard, and heartbreaking. Enjoy your journey, love yourself. You do not have to cut out everything, you do not need to kill yourself at the gym for 4 hours a day. Your body is not the enemy you have to fight.
Eating right and moving more is the new normal.0 -
I reached my goal and then some!
My advice would be to focus on a fitness goal not directly related to your weight loss or size. For me, it was being able to run a 5k. The weight didn't matter (much ), because I knew I was improving my health.
And enjoy what you're eating!!! You might not be able to eat whatever you want, but you should want whatever you eat. There's no need to force down salads if you don't enjoy them. I still have pizza, boneless wings, ice cream, nachos, burgers, pasta, bread, etc. on a regular basis. I just make it fit in the calories.0 -

I get to be labeled fit, people make uplifting comments about your determination, etc, i'm not a statistic.0

If you told me 3 months ago, i would be 20lbs lighter I would have fallen o nthe florr laughing! The key for me was baby steps. I tried not to look at the whole picture. I set little goals for myself.. losing 5lbs in one month, burning 400 calories a day on my HRM, all those eventually equalled my big loss this morning. Your going to plateau. Theres days your going to want to binge. Remember to just never quit. Keep going no matter what!0
