Man, I love to cook and love to eat. I aim for high protein (50% of my calories from protein), low fat (less than 15% of my calories) and the rest made up of low glycemic carbs.

One of my staples is chili made from extra lean ground beef, kidney beans, and crushed tomatoes. To add robustness to the flavor I add red wine (the alcohol and, thus, the empty calories burn off during cooking). Since I like a little heat, I also add jalapeño peppers in addition to chili powder.

Not sure if you like fish but, if you do you're in luck. I've great recipes for baked haddock (with garlic, dill and Dijon mustard) and tilapia (with low sodium soy sauce and ginger). I also love sushi and sashimi. If you've never had tuna sashimi I urge you to give it a try. One piece of tuna sashimi is 31 calories, 6.63 grams of protein, 0.27 grams of fat and zero carbs.

For snacking I like 1% milk fat cottage cheese, beef jerky (Jack Links is tender and delicious), hard boiled eggs (I toss out the yolks) and sugar snap peas (I eat 'em raw and love the crisp, fresh, naturally sweet taste plus the fiber is great in a high protein diet).

Eating high protein means also being diligent about water intake. I easily drink a gallon a day.

Hope that helps. I'm always up for talking about food! :)
