Back in 2012 I lost my job. It was the type of job that required considerable balance, strength, and long hours. I loved the work, but hated the job. After that, I moved to LA and worked so much to pay rent, that I didn't have time to go to the gym, but I was walking something like 10 miles a day in a suit, outside, during the summer in the Valley. I was able to maintain 155 lbs just due to that, but after I moved up to Washington for school in 2014, I didn't workout. At all.

My weight ballooned to 187 which is bigger than I'd ever been in my life.

So, I made a point at the beginning of the fall semester to make sure that the gym was a priority in my life. I added it into my schedule and make sure to go no matter what. Hell, I even went to the hotel gym when I was on vacation (it wasn't as good, but it was definitely better than not going). I started with Stronglifts 5x5 to bring my strength up to an actual working level. After that, I moved onto a 12-week program that I really like.

These guys post their workouts for free, but since I appreciate their videos on youtube and the fact that they seem to actually know about anatomy, I purchased the plan from them.

Of course, I also track my calories on MyFitnessPal as well. One thing that people do is to underestimate how much something weighs when they input their food. Now, barring carrying a scale around and slapping it on the table at a restaurant, I ALWAYS overestimate. Usually by 50% of what I actually think it weighs (if the chicken looks to be 4 oz, then I will say 6 oz).

Now, I weigh 178 lbs. I haven't taken a body composition test, but there is definitely a noticeable difference:

I'm only halfway through the plan and can't wait to see what I look like at the end and to continue on!

Thanks!
