Recently, I went on vacation and gained 8 or so pounds (all inclusive vacations are death). After we got back, I returned to my regular diet and workout routine and subsequently lost all 8 pounds in 3 days.

Is this normal? I have generally had success losing weight (I've lost roughly 25 pounds in the last month and a half), but this seems well outside of my norm.

Thanks!

It was water weight. Too much sodium maybe?

Thanks! I'm certain that I ate my fair share of sodium, so that would make sense. :)

Traveling, stress, sodium, lack of sleep can all do it. Congratulations on hitting even after a vacation.

I gained 15 in three months... here's hoping I have a similarly speedy recovery. :)

Water weight...if you do the math, it's actually pretty tough to put on 5 Lbs of actual fat on a vacation...and obviously it wouldn't come off that fast either.

You were probably eating higher sodium than normal...possibly a bit dehydrated...and if you traveled in an airplane, airline travel can cause a tremendous amount of bloating. I usually tack on about 5 Lbs with the air travel alone. If you were eating more than normal volume wise, you'd also have more inherent waste in your system.

I just did this last week....went to Maui, I ate maintenance mostly and also a little over. Came back with an 8lb weight gain and three days later it was gone. I was super stoked.

You were basically eating food made of salt.

Most likely. It was a Carnival Cruise. Lol.

    Thanks everyone for your input.
