My calories are declining as I am losing weight. But, I wanted to make sure of one thing. My calories are now at 2000. I know that a deficit of 500 calories a day x the entire week will give me weight loss. So, my question is, do I need to only eat 1500 of those 2000 or is the 2000 already taking into account the 500 calories so that I may eat the full 2000.

If you set your information to lose 1lb per week, your 2000 will already include that 500/day calorie deficit.

If you've gone through the guided setup to lose a certain amount per week, it will account for that so eat towards your goal of 2000.

MFP will have figured the 500 in for you, no further math required. Enjoy your 2000!

Thanks to all who replied. My first 4 weeks I was only taking in 12-1400 calories thinking that I needed to eat 1500. I stopped losing eating like that and some suggested I was eating too little. I was more than happy to eat a little more, around 1700 now. I feel Fuller now and I'm hoping the weight comes back off again.

Also, MFP hasn't taken into account any exercise you do.
    If you exercise log it.

Eat back 50 or 75% to begin with, and track your loss. Adjust the percentage up or down depending on how fast or slow you are losing.

Unfortunately calorie burns through exercise can only be estimates, that is why it is a good idea to eat a percentage then adjust according to your own data.

    Cheers, h.

You didn't stop losing because you were eating too little. Make sure you are logging your calories correctly.
