I haven't lost any weight this week

I started my diet on Monday the 27th of February and between then and today I have lost 12lbs. However I haven't lost a fraction of a lb this week and I don't know why. I have gone from 0 exercise to doing fitness dvds and going for walks with my dog. I eat 1,200 calories a day or sometimes less because I'm just not hungry enough to eat more. I track everything I eat on this app and always weigh what I've eaten etc and I have a fitbit to track my steps and calories burnt. I never eat back the extra calories I've earned from exercise. Can anyone give me some insight as to why I've lost nothing this week?

Weight loss is not linear. Some weeks you just won't lose...4

If you've started exercising, you may be retaining fluid. You may be getting your period. You may need to poop. Weight loss is not linear, and there we be weeks where you do everything right, and the scale doesn't reflect that. The sooner you understand that, the less it will effect you.2

It's ok this week i went up 4pounds after 3 weeks losing and I've done nothing different apart from been due on period. My stomach as been so bloated and today I've gone down to what i was and feel ok. Just obviously retaining water.2

Hi paige1stanley,
Here is what my weight loss has looked like over the last six months. I was set to lose 1/2 pounds per week and that's pretty much exactly what I've done. However if you look at the graph, you'll see that there were weeks when I wouldn't lose at all, and many days and even weeks when I gained. Perfectly normal. What matters is the overall trend.
Also, when you drop a lot of weight in a short time, like your 12 lbs lost, you are kind of still losing them after that initial low weigh-in. To me, there's always been a difference between the first time I'd reach a new low weight, and actually truly losing it and fully consolidating it. Again, perfectly normal.

A week is nothing, keep hitting your numbers and be patient.0

Weight loss is not linear, meaning you are unlikely to see pounds dropping off the scale every week like clockwork throughout the course of your weight loss.
There are many things that can mask pounds lost, too, such as water retention from salty foods or new exercise programs, time of the month for women, etc..
One week is not a big deal. I've gone two or three weeks at times before I see a loss on the scale. It's not a plateau, just a temporary stall.
Patience will be your best friend in this process.1 -
everyone's body is different. some ppl always lose every week, while some retain water easily0

Here's mine (as it is still in my clipboard from another post). Yeah it goes up and down while going down in general.

The moon shifted last night. Weight loss doesn't happen when that happens.
As everyone has said. Weight loss ISN'T linear. You can do EVERYTHING exactly the same 2 weeks in a row and get different results. Stay the course.
