How many days of going over your calorie limit would it take you to gain physical weight ?

I've gone over today and yesterday and the day before by far, I don't want this slip up to make me gain weight! :O

Thanks

You would have to eat 3500 extra calories in addition to your deficit in order to gain one pound. If you have your account set up to a 500-calorie deficit, you would have to eat 1,000 extra calories for 7 days straight to gain a pound.

There's something to be said for hittin' the treadmill if you think you've gone over and trying to help off-set it in the coming days.

However, you're gorgeous and don't look like you need to sweat it :)

It depends, you may not gain anything by going over everyday, your loss will just be slower. If you are on a 1 lb/week goal you are in a caloric deficit, so you will still lose weight even eating 450 cals more than your goal, but it will be quite slow.

If this is the case you should expect to see an average gain of 0.143 lb/day is you are over maintenance calories after taking into account exercise. So if your maintenance is 2000 and you eat 2500, but burn 400 from exercise you will only be 100 cals over maintenance as your new maintenance after taking into account exercise would be 2400 (2000+400)

You should have gained 0.43 lbs in 3 days as 500 cals * 3 days /3500 cals = a gain of 0.43 lbs, that being said there could be a timing delay or eating more may have increased your metabolism, but the math says you should have gained.
