I've been yo-yo dieting for years but I never could stick with eating right and exercise, how do you all keep going?

Eating well doesn't have to be boring and bland. I love to cook and so does my wife...we cook most meals at home and it's not a big deal. We're also not diet nazis...we have pizza night most Friday nights...stuff like that. We don't overly restrict or think we have to be all or nothing...there's a lot in between.
As exercise goes, it's imperative to find something you enjoy...it seems to me that many people do things because they think that's what they should be doing, even though they don't particularly enjoy that activity...but some magazine told them that's what they should be doing...chances of sticking to that long term are slim to none. You also don't have to go all crazy with exercise...my wife and I do a moderate amount of exercise weekly unless we're specifically training for an event. My preferred exercise modality is cycling and lifting weights...I generally cycle 3-4 days per week and lift 3x per week. My wife is more into running and she lifts 1x per week (she's actually at the gym right now). We both enjoy what we do...there's not a whole lot I'd rather be doing on a gorgeous morning than knocking out some miles on the road...doesn't require a whole lot of motivation...it's something I love and am passionate about.2 -
Let me flip it back on you - why do *you* want this?2

First I'll say it all comes down to whether you want it or not.100% your dedication to it.
That being said...
I know that when I start wondering "is this all worth it, I'm sick of this" I go to my computer and check my selfies I've taken. Basically every two weeks I take pictures of myself in the mirror to get an estimate of my progress from last time. I'm not where I want to be right now but I look a hell of a lot better than I did at 330 pounds. Maybe you should do that on your end?
Also I know it sounds weird but even if that doesn't work I'll go watch an episode of My 600lb Life and tell myself I was half way there and to never lose control again. Especially an episode where someone is so delusional they can't go through with it when I personally know I have 1) had that mindset before and 2) know it's actually easier to diet than a lot of people make it out to be if you just dedicate yourself.
But that's just me.1 -
Get in front of the mirror naked and jump.2

What everyone else said. Also, don't rely on "feeling" motivated. That feeling comes and goes. Just be too stubborn to quit. Take quitting off the table and keep plowing through. The motivation often sneaks back on its own.1

Couple points. I don't know what you mean by eating right and exercise to lose weight it's a simple process it's a matter of eating less calories than your body. It's a matter of eating less calories than your body Burns
Don't look at this as a diet. When your on a diet It's sucks. You're constantly miserable you're giving up food that you like and it's bound for failure. What you need to do is look at this as a lifestyle change. What I mean is you need to educate yourself as far as food and how it affects your body. I've lost 80 pounds over 8 months and been maintaining for another eight months.
I tell people losing the way was the easiest thing I ever did yet the hardest the easy part is actually losing the weight. It's just a matter of eating less calories than your body consumes you don't have to exercise to lose weight. The tough part is the mental aspect. To me this is 95% mental. For me something happened something went off in my mind and I got into a mode and my whole attitude and personality has changed. You have to find your own personal why. That why has to be totally selfish it can't be about your significant other it can't be about the kids it has to be all about you. by that why being all about you all your other little wise will take care of themselves.0
