3 day detox

I recently completed a 3 day detox that my boss asked me to do with her. Some of my friends were wondering about it, so here is the plan that I followed. It definitely took some dedication, even for only being 3 days. I pushed through it and lost 4lbs. I figured I would post it for anyone who seems interested.
Eat 5-6 meals per day. (I ate whenever I felt hungry) and your calorie intake should be between 1,000 and 1,500 calories.
Acceptable foods:
All fruits except canned or prepackaged.
All vegetables except canned, artichokes, white potatoes, avocados, and corn.
Vegetable Broth or Chicken broth, reduced fat and low sodium. I made a vegetable soup using Kitchen Basics vegetable broth no salt added. It was very delicious. I just added any veggies I felt like putting in, and some seasoning for taste.
Fresh Protein shakes (max. 2 per day) 8-10 oz servings. My boss made these for me and they were amazing!
recipe: 6 oz soy, rice, or almond milk
1/2 cup mixed berries, strawberries, or mixed fruit of your choice (unsweetened if frozen)
1 scoop of whey protein (your choice of flavor)
Optional: Splenda, Flax seed oil
Pam spray or "0" Calorie spray
Vinegar
Olive Oil
Water
Green, Black, or White Tea
Splenda
Spices and seasonings (reduce iodized salt intake... Mrs. Dash doesn't have salt if you weren't aware)
Coffee maxium 8 oz.
Supplements that are allowed:
Flax seed (seed, oil, pill, etc)
All Vitamins and minerals
BCAA
L-Glutamine
Green Tea Extract.
The main point is this is a healthy, natural detox. My bosses personal trainer gave her this to follow, and it was to cleanse her system of all the processed foods that are sometimes hard to avoid.
Good Luck to those who want to give it a try! :drinker:

The smoothies are amazing! I'm going to buy my own ingredients this weekend to start making them for myself!0 -
Looks so limiting! I see these posts but then wonder how good it really is for my body. This one looks like it would be good though!
Question about protein powder - what's the point? Are there calories involved in them?0 -

The protein powder does help with the calorie intake, but it also helps give you your protein for the day.0 -

GNC whey protein has about 130 calories per serving...add 1% milk and you have around 360calories for your shake, depending on how many scoops you put in...i usually have 2 scoops after a workout.0 -
The protein powder:
DO NOT use protein powder unless you are a high endurance athlete or lifting large amounts of weights. When you lift weights often your muscles need the protein, but if you are not then your body most likely gets all the protein you need from the meats etc. in your diet. If you drink protein shakes and the protein is not used, the excess protein will turn into fat. Hope this helps!0
