It's Friday afternoon, only 45 minutes until my work day is over! It's time to think about happy hour..........lol lol :-) How can I best incorporate some happy hour drinks into my diet and fitness plan? I don't want to give up entirely........I could change and drink something low calorie..........I like fruity martinis and cosmos. Any ideas? This is my first week with MFP!

Lemonade, seltzer & vodka. Cuts down on the lemonade calories-0

Vodka or gin and a diet chaser0

google for skinny drinks - there are tons of them :flowerforyou:0

I always used to drink gin & tonic..extra extra lime...seems lower in cals. I had my first drink in 7 years yesterday..a Summer Shandy beer..very tasty but 130 calories!
I enjoy mudslides but those are like alcoholic chocolate milkshakes!!

I read on an earlier post that she mixes her wine with diet lemonade and makes a spritzer.....I thought that sounded like a good idea0

I love cosmos too :-) but I suggest vodka and cranberry light, which is close (but no cigar) I also drink gin and low cal tonic0

I ususally drink Vodka soda and Lime, however for some reason this evening I have drank a bottle of Rose and my other half has just gone out to get some more.0

I don`t know where in the world you are but in the UK there is Lambrini light...which is a sparkling wine and only 40cals per 125ml glass 5.5% alc. So even if you have a bit of a blow out with friends..you haven`t overdone i too much. Better than drinking strong spirits0

Gin and tonic with 2 limes is a good idea. I still stick with my red wine though. I believe it's actully good for me.. Hey that's what they say, right?? I just eat less on the weekends when I drink. I haven't given up drinking and have lost 22 pounds so far. It sets me back a little on Monday but I have to live, right? Have a great happy hour!! Cheers
Make sure you log it so you'll be accountable to yourself. Enjoy!!!0 -
I'm a big fan of Amaretto and Diet coke. Only drink a few, though. So I;m not too worried about the 110 cals a drink. I usually eat light on days I plan to go out anyway.0

Flavored vodka and club soda0

Ask if they have low-cal options (diet mixers for the fruity mixed drinks) if that's what you really like. Many places do.0

I mix red wine with Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice and lime and/or lemon wedge for a quick and lower cal sangria. SO great over ice in this hot weather. I'll be having a few of these later this evening right after Zumba (gotta earn it!!)
You might be able to get the bartender to make one of these if they have diet cranberry for mixing with vodka.0 -
Or, alternatively, if I am drinking at home, I dig into my Jack Daniels Honey whiskey and mix it with some light lemonade. Yum.. XD0
