Come on - I know Im not the only one.
Ever since I got married last fall - and decided with my husband that we wanted to start a family right away - I have felt my weight standing in my way.
I am at that stage in my life where if people arent getting married they are popping out kids - its just everywhere and I feel like its constantly in my face.
I first got an ap on my android phone called pinkpad - and began posting and meeting people on there that are in the same TTC boat as me - but there are also a tonne of girls on the weightloss boat aswell - which a fair few are on MFP with me.
Who else is on this journey in hopes of planning/expanding their families?

I highly recommend getting off all of your weight before you start to "try" to conceive. Being over weight and pregnant is really dangerous and plus when you are pregnant you want to eat everything in sight-- trust me I'm working on getting off my baby weight, lol. I'd love to have another baby in the future but won't even consider it until I'm at goal weight and have been maintaining it for a while. Once your healthy then you have a healthy pregnancy.0

I was in your shoes several years ago. We tried for 5 years, went to fertility docs, had tests and more tests, meds and shots... lost a bunch of weight and then gave up... Ended up gaining some weight back... Decided it would happen in God's time if it was meant to. Today we have two amazing girls 2 1/2 and 5 1/2! I'm certainly not going to say "it'll happen" because I have no way of knowing that and hearing that when you are TTC is horrible. But I will tell you to have faith in whatever you believe. Best of luck on your journey.0

Well, my husband and I are going to expand eventually. I too want to lose some weight before I get preggers. I think being healthy and in good shape will make the pregnancy easier, and it'll be beneficial for a child.
I know what you mean about it always being in your face. Our two best couple friends both have a child each. One has a precious, but bad, little boy. The other couple has a beautiful blonde headed girl. I could just eat them up! Too many calories though.
We've talked about not having kids. Then we talk about maybe having one. Then back to none. Now, I think it'll be one. But we are going to wait a while. We've recently gotten into some debt with new cars and a tractor and such. So we are going to get that paid down first. I know we'll never be ready for a child, but one day maybe we'll be a little closer to ready than we are now!0 -

I agree, lose the weight first HOWEVER, as you can see from my stats I didn't and I had a wonderful pregnancy (well as wonderful as a pregnancy can be) and a very healty little boy who is now 3. You are young so you can time, so hang in there0 -

That is my plan....Right now I am 5 ft. and 143 pounds. And my goals is about 125-130. So I have a little bit to go still and so I am hoping that this will help our odds!0 -

Thanks a lot! You give me hope. :happy:0 -
Being healthy is the best thing you can do for yourself and your baby! My doc told me all about it and I wasn't even wanting another baby at the moment, lol.0

I have put officially trying on the back burner for this journey - but I cant say I am preventing either.
I spoke breifly with my doctor during my last pap about wanting to get pregnant in the near future - she advised me to just go off my birth control and wait to see how my cycles were before trying. She never brought up the weight issue - however I am working on it myself.
My husband is 30 - which is why we dont want to wait too long - we dont want to be ancient when we have our children if we can help it. I am 26 - but I would like to have 1 - 2 children before 30. We also want to figure out whether concieving will be a great challenge for us and if we should look into adoption sooner than later - seeing as you may wait 10 years before being matched.0
