No. People will talk about "starvation mode" but it is a myth. Going under too often may cause you to have less energy and be ravenously hungry but you will still lose weight. Think about people with anorexia. They lose.

OK thanks, today I feel OK and I haven't met my calories. So I feel like I'd be just eating to eat. I feel like that didn't happen often so might as well take advantage on those days.1

Those are the golden time in diet and they don't come very often. You should learn to recognize those times and take advantage of. You would create a larger deficit or bank the calorie for other time when the body cries out for more food.
Unfortunately many daily counters don't recognize this. They always eat the daily quota and struggle to fight craving but consume tastelessly when they don't need.0
