I could have a smokin hot body right now if it weren't for me not eating all the time.
lol anyone relate? But in all seriousness I have got to get this under control. Any tips? I have 50lbs to lose.
Also please add me as a friend! I feel I will do better if I have that extra support. Thank you!

If you stopped eating you wouldn't have a smoking hot bod, unless you think the skeletal look is attractive.
You need to fuel your body adequately, and I'd suggest resistance training to help with the body composition part - you can do it!0 -

Oh no I didn't mean stop eating lol I know I need to eat. Just not all the time as I have been.

I agree that a "smokin hot body" requires more than just weight loss. You have to add in some form of resistance training/weight training/body re-composition activities, too. Good luck OP. You got this!1

Are you looking for random diet tips? You'll get random answers.
But the place to start is:
*Log your foods on MFP
*Measure the foods you eat, ideally with a food scale
*Don't freak out if you go over, especially at first...that's likely the pattern you're trying to change. Figure out where you are having issues and adjust accordingly.
*Don't worry too much about guidelines on fat, sugar, salt, etc. unless you have a specific reason (diabetic, for instance) at least at first.
Do that.0 -

Get out of the chit chat forum and go to the getting started or general diet and weight loss help forums. Read the stickied threads.
All you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit. You can get this through eating fewer calories, burning more calories with activity or a combination.
My Fitness Pal will tell you how many calories to eat to lose at your desired rate based on your age, height, weight, activity level without exercise. With 50 lbs to lose 1 lb a week is probably reasonable sustainable goal. If you exercise you are supposed to log it and eat some of those exercise calories.
Log your food and drinks- anything you consume that has calories.
Beyond calories, protein, fats and fiber help people to feel satisfied. Look at eating foods that help you reach those goals and you might not feel the need to eat all the time.
You don't have to cut out all the foods you like just eat more appropriate portion sizes.0 -
Errr... are you trying to do the 1200 calorie diet? That's a very common error for women on this site, and it's really too low for anyone except a very small and inactive individual.1

Then you should speak to mfp.
Put this in "setting goals"
51 year old. Weight 179.2, goal 140, lose 1.5 lb per week, lightly active. Mfp comes up with 1210 cals per day.0 -

YEP ..my stats I put in always gives me 1200 .. I am short 48 and sedentary outside of exercise and this is lose goal at .5 a week. It thinks my TDEE is 1400.
eta my TDEE is not currently based on MFP's default.. I now have a much higher TDEE than MFP gives me.0 -
Last time I reached goal, it was just the opposite of what I always believed. What did work, was: "Not starve to lose" It was "Eat to lose" I was eating more in the range of 1350-1450 even 1500 cals. Now also take into consideration I was meeting my exercise and drinking water goals too. And snacked on apples, and raw veggies alot. And ate 6 times a day. Seems like I was always eating. Which I could not stand that. Seems like it was always time to eat. So I had to make myself eat this 6 times a day. Which is hard for a overweight person to do. When people are staring at you. They have these looks on their faces, like this overweight lady is always eating. And you want to tell them "Shut up. This is what I'm supposed to do. Mind your own business."0

If I put in .5 per week it gives me 1700
If I put in 1 per week it gives me 1460
I think I'm going to raise it to 1460.
Why heee heee, because at 1210 I always still go over in the middle of the night. Because why? Maybe I should of allowed more during day. I don't know. You would think this lady would be a expert, and could do this right now. I've reached my goal at least 3 times before. I used to be the "know it all, who gave other people advise." And I couldn't understand how they couldn't get to goal, and have self discipline to do it. Now look at me. Now I'm the fatty. The key and hard part is maintaining.
But, I do still have self discipline. Guess who stopped smoking last Saturday? I'm wearing the patch. This is my 4th day.1
