Hi,

I've been following my plan from the Freedom Diet Coach for 2 weeks and it's going really well, but I'm looking to find others who are on it too? Their website doesn't have a community section so I thought I'd try on here in case there's anyone else in the same boat. x

I'm eating whatever I want without anyone telling me what to eat. What benefits are you paying for?

I'm not using it but that's great it's working for you! I have nothing against people that want to receive help with their weight loss goal. Feel free to keep us updated! ^[^

Never heard of it but it's short-sighted on their part to not include a community, IMO.

I agree! I feel like forums are a perfect place for people to communicate. Maybe you should suggest it op to the company.

Beyond that (which I agree with by the way), social support is a significant help to many people with weight loss. And so just from an effectiveness standpoint I would expect the majority of coaching services to include some sort of community.

Thanks for the replies - yes I think I'll contact them and ask if they would consider adding a chatroom facility to their website.

For those asking what the benefits are - I like having a plan worked out for me by a nutritionist so I know it's healthy, especially as I have quite a few foods I need to avoid due to sensitivities. Apart from the lack of a forum, they have actually been very supportive as I've emailed several times about specific things and quickly received a personal response. Oh and I submit by weight to them weekly, so for me the accountability really helps to keep me on track.

I read the whole discussion here https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/2479618-Has-anyone-tried-the-Freedom-diet and it was interesting. It "teaches" the same as MFP, but in a roundabout way: You tell them what you like to eat, they tell you what you should eat. The differences in mindset of the members and how the principles are applied, is striking. Some of the members are able to make the plan their own - and I recognize the difficulty of revealing the "secret that is no secret" to others; while others struggle with hangups. One person even thinks the discussion is a marketing scheme.

In all, it sounds like you'll have a good and sensible plan, but I would only pay for a meal plan if I had medical issues interfering with food choices - like you have.

Since you are paying for their coaching and step by step direction, a free forum would be a distraction. People might get the wrong idea that they can do it themselves.

Apparently they're in the process of expanding their website, and a chat forum is one of the features they're planning on including - hope it's added sooner rather than later..!

Lost another 3lbs this week, so feeling positive and motivated at the moment
