Hi All, I've been exercising with a kettlebell now for 2 weeks and I am noticing loud cracks in my joints when I stretch following a workout, no pain. I have lost 25 lbs since mid Jan 17, and walk as other exercise. Any ideas what this is about, never had this when I've undertaken exercise in the past though that was all cardio. Thanks for any advice/ tips

No idea about cracking bones however I can tell you a thing or two about pain and if you have none with cracking keep on moving.

    Great job on losing 25lbs.

When I saw osteopaths about a neck problem, they said it was gas causing the noise. Unsure if this is true but whilst they were manipulating me, my joints were always "cracking".

"Cracking" sounds usually come with age. I hear Rice Crispies all the time now.

I've heard it's gas anD not a problem. If you have pain, get it checked out.

It's generally related to the synovial fluid moving in the joints; it's not your bones cracking.

If you have pain as well, or are disturbed by the sound, or your range of motion is affected get checked out by a doctor or physiotherapist.

'Age' related cracking in joints can be a result of osteoarthritis so worth getting checked out if you are getting developing creaks and cracks.
