I'm looking to get a heart rate monitor for work outs...any suggestions. I'm hoping to stay under $100 but I'm not limited to that.

I'm also trying to get one but my budget is way lower that that. I found one on amazon for like 15 dollars. I know, I know...that might not be worth it but for the time being that is all I can afford. Hopefully it works well or at least well enough.

Look for a Polar model that has the features that you want. I ride bikes so I want one that would track my biking activity (speed, cadence, power, altitude, etc) . I have a Polar S725X which is loaded with features for biking and tri-sports but is over you $100 budget.

Regardless of the feature you need try to get one that uses an encoded chest strap. They are much less sensitive to interference than the non-encoded types and if you are doing anything around other heart rate monitors you need an encoded version or you will be picking up every monitor that is near by.

Thanks again everyone. I'm definitely going with a Polar model, but I'm just needing some heart rate and calories burned information so hopefully I'll find one <$100

    Thanks again, everyone!
