I came to an awesome realization this morning... F**K THE SCALE!

I have been busting my butt day in and day out at the gym for the past 3 months and eating healthy... AND I have lost a total of 3lbs! At first I was really upset about this, until I decided that the scale is a stupid machine that doesn't know what it's talking about.

The truth is even though I've ONLY lost 3lbs, I have lost over 18 inches!!! None of my clothes fit and I recently had to go buy more clothes (and shorter skirts now that I have legs!!!!!)

I'm proud of me!

Just wanted to share! :)

Wow, 18 inches is awesome!!! Way to go!!

I have "issues" with the scale as well, which is why I'm not going to weigh myself for 90 days.

You go, girl!!! I'm proud of you. I started eating better two months ago and have not weighed. I am the obsessive kind of person that can get obsessed with losing pounds and get discouraged when it doesn't go down like I want it to. I can feel a difference in my clothes FINALLY and that is what makes the difference to me. I would kind of like to know pounds lost because everyone here has their pounds lost listed and mine still says zero but what does it matter? I like feeling a difference in clothes and don't want to be chained to the scales either. Glad to hear you had to have new clothes!! Isn't that a great feeling!! I'm not there yet but hope to be some day!!

That is so AWESOME!! I wish more people had this opinion ... I think a lot more people would be successful if they looked as closely at inches as they do at the number on the scale. While overall weight can be important, it is afterall, one factor in a MUCH larger picture. Way to go!!

That is awesome!!!! You are right, the scale is NOT the whole story, it is a very small and insignificant detail.

You must have built some serious muscles! That's awesome!

I have been working out for just over one month and so far have GAINED 2 pounds. I haven't seen a difference in my clothes yet either, but I carried my son today on a walk. I felt so much better than I did last summer, even though he is heavier now. I am stronger and healthier even if it doesn't show yet.

Are you sure your scale isn't broken? 18 inches should equate to more than 3 lbs? While I agree - I don't go by only the scale - but unless you are doing heavy weight training, I find it very hard to believe it's only 3 lbs. Curious....Awesome job BTW.

I can totally relate! For the last 4.5 months I have mostly had a loving relationship with the scale. These last 2 weeks . . . not so much. It finally moved in the right direction again this morning. But just like you my clothes have gotten looser and looser.

    So, screw the scale!

I am a scale *kitten*. I just can't get over it. I need to knock it off its lofty pedestal, like you. Awesome attitude! I'm in awe of your commitment and dedication to being fit.

I just stuck mine way in the back of my closet! I don't want my mood to be determined by it anymore. In the morning i don't have time to dig it out and at night i don't care. So happy for you!

I agree! I might throw mine out the window soon. I've been exercising like mad and eating healthy and that stupid, worthless thing won't budge in numbers. But I know my clothes are fitting better, I'm starting to see definition in certain areas, and most of all I FEEL great. So screw the scale.
