Low-Calorie Alcoholic Beverages

Options
Once or twice a month, my husband and I go out for dinner and usually have a few drinks. I try to find something somewhat healthy on the menu to eat, but usually end up drinking more calories...

Are there any low calorie alcoholic beverages you can share with me? I don't drink beer...I love margaritas and amaretto sours....but margaritas are 250+ carories and amaretto sours are (I think) 200+ calories.

Thanks :)

Vodka + diet cola, Rum + diet cola, or wine are usually what I go for. If you like spiced rum, like Capt. Morgan's, then that is good with diet cola as well.

If you have an Applebee's nearby, they have skinny bee margaritas and skinny bee mojitos for only 100 calories each. They're a little spendy but pretty yummy.

i like drinking vodka or tequila w/ sparkling water and lime (or lemon depending on what you're getting). it doesn't sound so good but it's pretty tasty! my friend adds a splash of cranberry juice for slight flavor, i prefer it plain.

Always always shots and diet soda, lol. Even the boys I party with have run out of reasons not to have their rum with Coke Zero.

gin and diet tonic is the most drunk you can get for the fewest calories. be warned though, it tastes a bit like drinking a pine tree.

Took the "letters" right off my finger tips! Hungry Girl is a great site. They also have a good cocktail book.

In australia, Lindeman's Wines have a range called 'Early Harvest' which, as they're lower in alcohol, are lower in calories.

A good basic rule is if it clear it is probably a better choice than the amber colored liquor... clear rums and vodkas are your best bets.. If your looking for something with some flavor (as opposed the diet soda) try juice drinks (screwdrivers) at home we like v8 Splash with some rum in it.

I'm a diabetic and drink strictly flavored premium vodkas or premium tequila w/ any diet pop or crystal light. The body processes these very differantly than other alcoholic drinks. Hope it helps :)

Ask about "skinny margaritas". Most places make them, and they're around 100 calories each. Also, do a wine spritzer-those are also around 100 calories. Check the database here for the calorie counts! Good luck!
