Increasing Calories - staggered?

Hey guys!
I've chatted to my trainer and I'm now going to be increasing my calories from 1200 to 1700 a day to help fuel my weightlifting training more as he said I'm not eating enough. In terms of macros I'm also going to be increasing the amount of carbs I eat
My question that I have is do I have to stagger this increase and do like 100 calories at a time? Or can I just go up to 1700 a day straight away? Logistically I know it's CICO, so to me that means it shouldn't be a problem just going to 1700 straight away right?
Thanks in advance!

Yep add 100-200 per week to reduce fluctuations on the scale0
