Good afternoon all, I had surgery 2 weeks ago. Currently I am not able to exercise and only have my diet to see me through. Can anyone tell me what they did to work their way up to a somewhat normal routine? Just looking for some support and ideas, please feel free to add me as well

    Hi!

I would just watch what you eat and eat within your calories. A healthy lifestyle is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise.

I wish you the best of luck. I hope you have a great recovery.

It's hard to give advice without knowing what kind of surgery you're recovering from. Depending on what it is, it might not even be advisable to eat at a deficit as it does impact the rate you heal at. My orthopaedic surgeon found out I was eating in a deficit leading up to my surgery (knee) and told me that for 4-6 weeks after I should aim for maitence instead. I would assume every surgery is different, just depending on the length of time expected recovery is.
