Hello everyone! I am new to this so I will make it quick. I am a type 1 diabetic with good blood sugar control and trying to lose weight. Insulin and weightloss are not friends and I need some real help. Any advice would be great!

I'm a type 2 so not much help; but I'm sure theres a group on here for Type 1 if you use the browse group feature or search feature using keywords like "Type 1" or "diabetic" you should be able to find lots of support... I did a quick search and there are a couple of other threads for Type 1''s looking for help and friends so I cut and pasted the links from another thread for you.. hope it helps

Just like what was already stated, low carb dieting helps a lot. I especially went on a low carb diet when I found out I had t1d because I didn't know what else to do, and it did cause me to lose weight. Now I use the amount of carbs I eat to increase/decrease my weight

I have had type 1 diabetes since I was 4 years old and what a ride it's been! From ups and downs in blood sugar to weight gain and loss to having a baby to getting old - lots of life with my constant pal-diabetes. The weight loss is tough with insulin but it is possible, anything is and the key is staying as positive as possible and eating healthy foods - I'd love to hear more from other T1D's!

Hey! I'm a type 1 diabetic also. This June will be my 22nd diabetic anniversary lol! I'm very healthy overall, but always have that 5 pounds right in the lower belly that will not go away unless I starve myself, which is not an option. I believe insulin and fat are best friends. I personally do a low carb high fat and protein diet which works well for me over all , but I do get low sugar at night a lot.
What do y'all do for snacks before bed that are low carb?
