Ok i really need some help, i've recently gained a fair bit of weight and it makes me miserable. I have no motivation to get up and do anything, i can't seem to change my eating habbits and i'm just so depressed with being so lazy. I also work night shift which doesn't help with having energy to work out and makes it easy to stop at all the 24 hr McDonalds stores around. I enjoy being fit and healthy, i am happy when i am working out so why am i sitting here on a pc instead of outside burning some calories?? Can someone please give me the motivation i need to transform my life back to when i was happy.....?

Heh... what worked for me was just being miserable and whiny to the point that I myself was tired with it and when I felt that, I just said "that's it, I'm getting the **** to work". I don't know if there's any other way to do it than JUST DOING IT. First step is the hardest!
Maybe making smaller goals will work better for you? You know - not "I'm gonna lose all that fat", but "I'm gonna go to the gym today" and then "I'm gonna go to the gym three days in a row" kind of thing? Remember, no matter how slow you're going, you're still lapping everybody on the couch! So even a stroll around the park counts.
Good luck!

I did what you are doing for 20 years and now I weigh over 400lbs. I was that person who would watch The Biggest Loser while laying on the couch eating a loaded pizza. Health issues are what jump started my motivation. You have to want to do it. Just try to remember how much better you feel when you are exercising and eating right. I used to live on mcdonalds. Now it makes me sick. I work the swing shift, so I get your plight. The key is to have the right foods in the house. I pay a little more but I have serving size everything. Carrots, yogurts, low fat cheese sticks, protein shakes & bars. Stuff I can throw in a bag and take to work. I have I buy gummy vitamins so I feel like I am having a treat. I buy those little mini ice creams and popsicles for craving days. I keep low fat and low sodium cold cuts and whole grain breads in the house for the quick grab and go situation. I eat small meals throughout the day, every couple of hours. This way at night, I am satisfied from low cal, low fat, high fiber, high protein diet.
Working nights is a blessing. You can go for a walk during the day. Go for a swim during the day. Don't let excuses become your reasons. If there is something holding you back. figure out the solution, impliment the solution, then pat yourself on the back because you deserve it.0 -
First of all Mcdonalds is poison. There hamburgers isn't even real food. I lost 44lbs so far since Jan by getting rid of preservatives and substituting key foods in my life. Look up liferegenerator on youtube. He teaches organic living.. I don't even do what he does, but I would say I I eat 30% raw food now. What happens is when you get rid of the sugar...etc in you life, you don't crave it anymore. Our livers are overworked, and when they are, food just goes to fat, instead of being processed correctly.0

Thanks for the ideas, i might just add i am a mother of 3 and my job includes a lot of driving so temptation is very difficult and excersise during the day can be almost impossible after tending to children and trying to sleep. I understand all aspects of a healthy diet and also have dabbled in natural hygine which is living off of only raw and unprocessed foods however my motivation to follow my knowledge is low. Like a smoker knowing they are killing themselves but still keep smoking, i keep eating....0
