How can I try out protein/meal replacement powders?

I would really like to try out some kinds of protein powders/meal replacement shakes but I really don't know if they will be something I like so I am sort of hesatiant to buy anything up front.
Does anyone know of any companies that will send out samples or is there anyway to get samples of these kinds of things from places?
I'm pretty picky about what I like and I have very little money so I really don't want to buy something I'll try once and then just let sit it throw away?

I am not sure if you have a Super Supplements store, but they sell single serving protein powder so you can try it before buying the humongous tub. GNC may also. I also just googled "protein powder samples"--there are many listings and some are free!0

You can often get single serves from your local sporting goods shops or chemists.
But why do you want these things? What do you hope to accomplish with them?0 -
If you have very little money, you're better off making what you have work for you with foods that you like and have the variety that you need nutritionally. Meal replacements are generally more expensive than actual food and come with issues like not learning portion control and nutrition.0

@Machka9
I often times have trouble meeting my calorie goals (even when they are set at 1200) and sorta have to force myself to eat extra or eat things that I don't enjoy that have extra calories to get to my goals. So it was suggested to me that I try out some products along these lines to help supplement my diet.
I have a lot of stomach issues that prevent me from eating a lot of different foods plus one of the medications I'm on has an appetite suppressant as a side effect so forcing myself to eat always just makes me feel terrible.
I don't think I'm losing an unhealthy amount of weight at this point but since I have started to exercise regularly I would like to try to make sure I am more healthy in how I lose since I have a lot of health issues to begin with.

I have tried with food and just general multivitamins alone and it hasn't really cut it. I don't have really any income because I'm not working at the moment due to issues with chronic migraines but if I can find a product I like and will help me I can come up with the money for it.
@getrealgirl
I googled too but most of the offers had expired that's why I was wondering if anyone know of like companies I could email, and they would be willing to send something out, or something along those lines
I don't really have any where that's very close to me that specializes in this stuff but I can drive out of my ways a little bit and there is a mall that has a dicks where I can maybe look to see what they sell single serving wise, not positive where the closest GNC is. I know there is one downtown in Pittsburgh but I don't usually go down there unless I have another specific reason cause of parking and all that. I will look to see where there is another one though.0
