How Long Did It Take You to Lose 10lbs?

I started about 2 weeks ago and have lost 1.5lbs. I know I could gain it back in a nanosecond if I am not careful. Patience is not won of my strengths and it seems like forever until I lose the 30 lbs. I need to lose. If I could just lose 10 lbs. I would feel like I am on my way, so was wondering how long it took some of you to lose that amount of weight. I want to be realistic.

I didn't lose anything at all for my first 10 days. Then I started losing 1 kg/week.3

It's going to take me a life time.4

3.5 weeks lost 11lbs...low carb, high protein eating. Around 1700 calories a day. Worked out twice a week doing running/resting intervals. Run for 30 seconds, walk for 3 minutes (6 times each).8

At the beginning, I was losing 10 lbs a month, but I realize now losing too fast contributed to losing too much muscle along with the fat (along with not lifting during the loss). Fast doesn't always equal good.8

I lost the first 13 pounds in a month, 42 pounds in 21 weeks. Then it slowed to a half pound weekly.
My wife's loss was the opposite a half pound weekly, at most for 3 months. Hers speed up the last 20 pounds.
This is a YMMV.2 -
Just under 10 weeks. Right on schedule with my 1lb per week goal 10 pounds of 30 would put you at 33% of to goal - that's more than just on your way! Patience, grasshopper.3

Weight loss is so individual because there's so much to take into consideration. Starting weight, height, muscle mass, amount of exercise, etc... Some people can drop 10 pounds quickly while others it may take several months. When I first begin counting calories and logging consistently, I can typically lose 9-12 lbs/month for the first couple of months. Increasing my exercise, water weight loss, and cleaner eating all contributes to that initial quick loss for me. This usually tapers for me after 2-3 months and the rate slows.6

It typically takes me around 3 months to lose my 10 Lbs winter weight.4

Been trying to lose my last 10# for 6 months with zero progress. But Maintaining is far better than going the other way.4

It took me 51 days for the first 10 pounds. After that it got even slower. Now that I'm close to goal it's taking around 3 weeks to lose 1/2 pound.1

1.5 lbs in 2 weeks is good. You are losing 0.75 lbs week. That has your pace of 10 lbs in less then 2 months2
-
11ish weeks. But I was already at a healthy weight, so baby steps. Good luck!

It took me about 2 months to lose the first 10, and my goal is to lose 40. It feels slow, but in retrospect, 2 months of my life is miniscule. Just hang in there, and that first 10 will be gone before you know it3

It took me three months, during which I started strength training 2x a week, so put on a little muscle, but became much smaller.3

A week, but I was over 300#.3

2 months. I lost 5 lb/month for Jan and Feb, and it's slowed down since then. My total weight loss goal is about 20 lb, and my goal is to get there by the end of May.0

I hit 10.8 pounds at weigh in today. It's my 14th week at 1300 calories. I slipped a few days here and there that slowed me a bit. But now I'm averaging a pound a week.2

About five weeks, but I was moderately obese.1

Lost 15 lbs in the first month. It's easy to do. Just get your weight past 330 lbs before starting to try to lose
(Not recommended by the way)9 -
Monster metabolism, but when i made my first account during last years summer , around 2 weeks, no exercise no carbs no sugar roughly 1000 cal a day ft 2h hot baths followed by a cold shower at the end (its really nice and boosts ur metabolism if you're into it give it a try)0

I've lost almost 15 pounds the past 3 weeks. But I've also cut gluten, sugary foods, fast food, and all drinks except for water and unsweetened tea out of my diet completely, exercise 6 days a week, and eat about 1000 calories a day. And I started at 206 pounds, so I was considered borderline obese at the start.
Just look at all the factors. And it may take some work but figure out what works for you.2 -
It took me two weeks to lose 10 pounds. Then again, I have been doing Insanity. I went from 239 to 228 in two weeks. Still have another two weeks until my first month is through.3

I lost 2lbs like right away then gained 5 back but after about 3 1/2weeks total I ended up losing about 10lbs below what I started at.
In the last week and a half I have been just gaining and losing the same 2lbs over and over again which had been frustrating. I would like it just to make up its mind. I haven't made any progress since April started b1 -
When I first started losing three years ago, it took me about 2 to 3 weeks to lose 10 lbs. My start weight was 241 at the time.
Last year I did another cut, and that time it took me about 3 months to lose 10. I was around 170 lbs at that point. Probably start losing again soon as I have another 20 or so to go.0 -
Its a marathon not a sprint so keep in mind as long as you stay consistent in eating right and exercising the weight loss will come, its different for everyone so don't get discouraged, enjoy the journey and embrace the fact that you're making positive changes that impact your longevity and life, accept that mistakes will be made and take these first few months to really get to know your body and how you respond to everything. See advice being given as a base, a place to start and experiment to see what works and what doesn't. Make adjustments to benefit you and your goals its a fun journey enjoy it2

I've lost 9, and it's been 2 months.2

I've lost 11 in about 7 weeks. I have not cut anything out my diet to achieve this...just stuck to my deficit and do an hour on my exercise bike 5-6days/wk1
-
So far I've lost 5lbs and it's been about 2 weeks. I think any progress is great and just remember to stay confident!0
-
I figure on about 5 months for every 10 pounds.0
-
First 10, about 3 weeks. Last 10, it's gonna take me 3 months or more, lol2
