Fantastic weather in Southern England and got a couple of good cycle rides in - total of 102 miles and loads of smiles.

Pretty fantastic. My wife and I took advantage of the sunny weather and took a turn on the lake of Geneva with a pedal boat. It was fun!
I did eat a lot over the weekend, but I also had a monster weight session at the gym on Saturday and an intense bodyweight workout yesterday, so I'm hoping it'll sort of make up for it.

    Weather was GORGEOUS!

Spend couple of hours on saturday afternoon having a couple of beers in the sun with friends. Well worth it.

Sunday was a day full of gardening while the boy was at work. We had put together a new picnic table, so I spent 3 hours painting that (took 5 coats!), 1 coat on the back gate, some planting, watering etc.

5 hours out there working/pottering, and got myself a fine burn... :(
Then lots of household chores, cleaning, cooking etc.

Didn't make it to the gym, but was active all day, so don't feel too bad.

My weekend was real good, since the sun was out. Worked out in Saturday, Sunday did cardio. It was my cheat day. ☺

Saturday -- My husband and I decided to do a relaxing ride on Bruny Island today.

We took the ferry over to the island, and started the ride with a climb. I was testing new shoes and whenever I get new shoes, the whole cleat thing is always a pain. I thought I had it right, then second guessed myself and changed it ... and so on and so forth ... and it was wrong. So at the top of the hill, my husband "shoed"? "shod"? me. :D And we finally got it right.

    The ride continued!

With shoes and cleats that worked, I actually attempted climbing some hills standing up. I haven't done that in a long, long time! It's a bit of work! I could be stiff tomorrow working a set of muscles I haven't worked recently.

Two rain storms came through ... one just before we reached our turn-around town, and we missed it. And one while we were in our turn-around town, and we missed it because we were having a relaxing lunch under shelter. That one was accompanied by thunder!

So it was a good ride. And nice to not really have much in the way of schedules and deadlines. :)

    Distance: 74.5 km
    Elevation: 640 m
    Moving Time: 4:21:31
    Elapsed Time: 5:45:08
    Speed: Avg: 17.1 km/h | Max: 51.1 km/h
Heart Rate: Avg: 135 bpm | Max: 178 bpm

And then we did a shorter, flatter ride on Sunday. :) We're tapering.

Did a lovely seven-mile walk on Saturday. It was very leisurely because we were bird-watching, so there was a lot of time spent standing around.

Gorgeous weather yesterday, so I went for a 10k run in the morning (58 minutes - I love that I'm regularly coming in under an hour these days). Then relaxing in the garden in the afternoon, before walking a couple of miles to a local restaurant for a fab meal to celebrate my birthday. I ate everything, and regret nothing.

I was proud of myself this past Saturday. We had people over for dinner, and I had 3 beers but they were Michelobe Ultras so my calories were still under for that day. And I bought cupcakes and didn't have a single one!
