Becoming slim happens when you eat at a deficit and lose fat?
What's slim healthy vs slim Skinny? I presume you mean a difference in muscularity?0 -
I know exactly what you mean. I used to be very thin but not healthy at all. I had no stamina or cardiovascular health. People just saw thin and thought that meant fit. There is a huge difference. I am losing weight now to lower the fat but my goal is to be healthy and fit. For me that means trying to move more, to tighten up my muscles and build a healthy cardiovascular system. I lost my first 20 lbs just through diet but now I am trying to get moving more for the next 20. It can totally be done. I've seen some great pictures in the success threads. There is a visible difference between just being thin and being fit.0

People pretend to misunderstand things often here, OP, they actually do know what you mean but are playing this game where they try to get you to think about what you said instead of diving in.
The answer to your question is probably to maintain some kind of strength training while eating in a deficit, and being prepared to do some extra of the same kind after you reach maintenance and have a few more calories to play with.4 -

Body composition?
I can lose weight (quickly) and still have a pretty high percentage of body fat.
OR I can lose weight in a healthy manner; moderate weekly weight loss goal, adequate protein, strength training.....and have a lower percentage of body fat when I reach goal. Strength training doesn't add much (if any) muscle while losing....the goal is to hang onto what you have.
Exercise if you CAN. Yes - you can lose weight without it, but your health will be much better off with exercise. Find something you like to do and be healthier for a lifetime.
Losing weight while losing muscle looks like the current you only smaller. So if you are soft, or doughy looking now.....that's you at goal without exercise.0 -

Yeah, except that in my case I wasn't pretending anything. I honestly didn't understand the question, hence I asked for clarification.
Thanks for trying to presume you knew what we were thinking, though, and making incorrect assumptions.2
