Cancer treatments weight gain.

I was heavy before the treatment. Now I am super heavy. I need to get healthy! The oncologist says it's hard to lose weight during treatment. Am I just wasting my time with this whole journey? So grateful to be alive but wish I could lose the weight now too.

I am sorry you are going through this. However, any advice given here likely is not grounded in a medical background. These are conversations for your doctor team. You don't want to negate you body's ability to heal by introducing a caloric deficit.5

I second @vespiquenn
Your case is very specific. Is there any way you can be refered to a registered dietician who will be able to advise you on your needs with both weight loss and cancer treatment?2 -
I don't know what treatment you are referring to, but hope things are progressing well for you. I'm out the other side of breast cancer now. I've been on Anastrazole for about 16 months. The drug is reported/reputed to make it difficult to lose weight and far easier to gain weight. However, in the year since I started watching what I eat, I've dropped over 5 stone (I'm 55 and 5ft 1"). Everyone is different and their bodies react differently to treatments. With weightloss, I decided that I wasn't going to allow 'you won't be able to lose weight on this drug' to dictate my getting fitter without a damn fight, and it's a fight I've won so far. I wish you well on your health and weight loss journey. x5

I'm recovering from 2 years of breast cancer treatment and I am really heavy now, I put on alot of weight. It sucks I know but it's a small price to pay for your life. When you feel better you can tackle your weight head on and I'm sure you'll win. Weight is nothing compared to cancer xx2

Sorry you are going through this. I also gained a lot of weight when I went through chemo. I didn't care at the time though. So much poison in my system, I just wanted to keep my body fueled. When I was sufficiently recovered, then I dealt with the weight issue.0
