So I have a strenous job in the credit department of a big bank. Absolutely no time to even walk around for a little exercise. Am at my desk by 9 and almost never manage to log out before 8.30-9 pm. Can anybody help with my diet and exercise so that I can come down from 78 kilos to 50ish...All help appreciated.

Exercise isn't required for weight loss (though it is great for our health). To lose weight, just eat at a deficit. MFP will create a goal for you if you input your details.
That said, that sounds pretty stressful. Is there anything you can do in terms of getting additional support in your role or even looking for a new job that will permit a better quality of life?5 -
Watch your calorie intake. Start tracking what you eat now and work on sticking to a calorie deficit.
I find planning my eating and prelogging my food helpful.
Exercise is not necessary for weight loss but is good for you. It can help manage stress. If you sit 12 solid hours, sleep 8 hours then you do have a bit of time left in your day. You don't have to start with 2 hour workouts. You could walk briskly for 30 minutes a day maybe after work. There are lots of workouts on You Tube that are 10-30 minutes. You can wear an activity tracker/pedometer and work on increasing steps.
Fit extra activity into your day. Take the stairs instead of elevator or escalators. Park farther away and walk farther. Ride a bike places instead of driving. Be less efficient with chores.

if you sit at a desk - could you get one of those under desk cycle things1

12 years ago, I had a 10 hour a day job with an hour commute on either end. I lasted two months before deciding I prized quality of life more. I can do 10-12 hour days from time to time, but have no interest in a job that requires this on a regular basis.2

My 100% honest and well-meaning advice: Find a new job. You're not living, you're just working.5

It's not necessary but if I were you I'd get up early and go for at least a 30 min walk just to clear my head.
Put your stats in Mfp and log your food stay at your calorie goal. In a few weeks you will learn what foods will help keep you satiated and what foods or worth eating on occasionally.0 -
Maybe just make the most of your weekends. Losing weight can be done by just eating at calorie deficit anyway.
Other than that, I'd say find a new job
But you must get a lunch break right? go walk the block - anything is better than nothing.0 -
If you're trying to fit in exercise, you'll have to wake up earlier...or go to bed later. I'm at my desk by 8:30am and get up by 4:30am-4:45am to get my gym time in. It gets my head in the right place to start off my day and doesn't interfere with family time (b/c they are all still asleep when I get home from the gym).0

is that legal? depending on your country/labor laws, a 12 hour work day with zero breaks might be illegal.1

Do they give you any time for meals or breaks? You could use some of that time for a little exercise. You might also be able to stand up and walk around for work - for example, instead of emailing or calling someone you work with, walk over to talk with them. Even some mild exercise is better for you than sitting for 12 hours.

What city and country are you in? What are your employee rights there?
