Just wondering if anyone has tried the jillian michaels 30 day shred workout video? How much weight did you lose as I'm contemplating buying it.

Obligatory reminder that there are a lot of threads on here already that you can search for 30 day shred and even several with before and after pics/results. There are also groups that start frequently for accountability that start all the time, I did twice and liked the support and community.
I used it twice and occasionally go back and do a one off workout. It's tough but results were worth it! Especially if you just do a lot of cardio and haven't done weights or even body weight exercise. The dvds are cheap on amazon. Be cautioned that the workout itself won't give you mind blowing results if you aren't eating less or more while trying to gain muscle. Most people who don't see visible results were eating too much and overestimating the burn for the 30 mins of exercise. This will hide your results. So in a normal deficit yes you will likely notice body changes like tighter thighs, lifted butt, firmer arms and a smaller waistline since the DVD targets multiple muscle groups at once for the strength aspect.

I have a copy floating around somewhere. I remember liking the workouts.
No DVD is going to make you lose weight in and of itself. It's the combination of increasing activity while keeping intake constant (or reducing it) that makes you lose weight. The key is to find activity that you enjoy.2 -
if anyone is interested in starting, it would be fun to have a buddy or two1

There are two threads running at the moment on the Fitness and Exercise board for accountability - most of us are about half way through, but only this morning someone else mentioned they'd just started it. Might be worth joining in rather than starting a new thread, as there is often a high drop out rate on accountability threads...0

As someone said before a workout video isn't going to help you lose much weight. Weight loss is mostly about your diet. But with diet and exercise that will help with the full effect of weight loss. Ive done it a few times and lost my typical 10 ish pounds in a month.1
