Afternoon, looking for good sources of protein from a vegetarian/vegan perspective!

Options
I'm not a vegan myself but don't take supplements, and besides veg/chicken that I eat I know that I'll forever be missing my protein goal (started this yesterday)

any advice is appreciated!

    Hello,

I am vegan and I get my protein from:

    Chickpeas
    Tofu
    Edamame
    Brown rice
    Quinoa
    Broccoli
    Beans
    & vegan protein powder :)

    Hope this helps??

In addition to the sources listed above, tempeh and seitan are great sources of plant protein.

Vegetarian sources include eggs and dairy.

If you eat chicken, do you eat fish?

Lentils have 18 grams of protein per cup (198g), and are also a great source of fiber (63%DV), folate (90%DV), maganese (49%DV) and iron (37%DV). They are also one of the easiest legumes to cook; just boil them in water for about 20 minutes or until soft. I'd suggest french green lentils (smaller bean, firmer texture) for eating as a standalone food, or as an addition to rice, couscous, etc. You can also add up to a cup of red lentils (much softer bean, smooth & creamy texture) to smoothies. It makes them wonderfully thick and smooth without throwing the overall flavor off.

All the above. Also check out Gardein or Beyond Beef products.
