Does anyone else feel like they have a cranky toddler living inside them?

My weight loss journey has been full of tantrums from my inner child! Today I'm frustrated that they changed the location of my work meeting and I might have to go out for lunch if I don't have access to a microwave/cutlery. Oh no the horror lol. What sort of tantrums does your inner child throw??

Yeah, me too! That toddler is hangry!3

My inner toddler throws tantrums when something throws off my workout schedule.
No! I can't work through lunch! I need my yoga!!!

I hear you!!!! That's a great way to put it.
Tantrums my inner toddler has thrown recently:
- We're out of yogurt so I have to go back to the grocery store. Waaaah!
- I forgot to put balsamic vinegar in this soup so it's just a tiny bit bland. Waaaah!
- I spilled one spoonful of my pudding so now I don't get to eat it all. Waaah!
I've decided to name the little whiner Spanky. So now I can just say "Shutup Spanky!" and that will make me smile and remind me I'm being ridiculous.
(And hopefully I'll use my inside voice so I don't end up shouting "Shutup Spanky" in the grocery store line or in the middle of a meeting.) ;-)22 -
My inner toddler is having a massive tantrum because we want to be stubborn and want to eat all the bad stuff or not eat at all! With everything I cant eat its easy to want to break the new lifestyle. I want the thick and creamy mac and cheese (cant have gluten or dairy) and I want something cheesy and rice (cant have rice) and I want a steak (cant have red meat) and I also cant have corn. So I am basically sitting here wanting everything and the inner toddler doesn't want to be told no!1

Oh my gosh this is a great idea, I need to name mine now! Realizing how ridiculous the tantrum is must be a great way to keep it in perspective!2 -
When a family member finishes something I was planning on eating8

No, no that's not little Billy screaming in aisle 4 of the Walmart, that's me when my training schedule gets put off1

Yeahhhhh I just moved in with my boyfriend and it's ridiculous how angry I get inside when his kids ask for my snacks! They are 2 and 4 years old, I can't say no lol! Talk about a tantrum! I've even started buying more so there's plenty for all of us but it still feels like THEY'RE TAKING MY STUFF! And then 2 minutes later I have to tell them about the importance of sharing ...10 -
I work in an office and all of us are trying to slim down, imagine all the tantrums being thrown around here. LOL6

My inner toddler has PMS

Mine gets mad when I show up to the gym for a certain class and find out it's been changed to something else. It's not that the new one is bad, but I've been looking forward to the original one all day and it throws me off. >:(4

Yep its like I'm making all these little changes already in terms of health/weight loss so anytime there's a change in my carefully crafted plan I feel slighted lol.
Now that I found the microwave my inner child is happy ... For now!3 -
Mine gets mad at my boyfriend for wanting to take me out for dinner when I only have Lean Cuisine calories left. Because mean boyfriend. Wanting to take me out and buy me a nice dinner. I really have it rough, don't I?8
-
Yes and I am tempted to sometimes tell that toddler grow up and quit whining. Instead I treat myself as I would a small child who I've been entrusted to care for and love.3
-
My food is MY FOOD. Don't snack on my cheese sticks/Greek yogurt/pork rinds/cottage cheese, etc. I buy you vultures plenty of crap snacks. Lay offa my stuff.8

So rough, you should obviously dump him Mine also never understands why I want Lean Cuisine over his cooking. "How many calories could this possibly have?" I DON'T KNOW THAT'S THE POINT! Lol5 -
I threw a tantrum because I was working out and watching calories, but not seeing immediate results (we're talking 5 minutes after finishing a workout results). I came home and rushed to the bathroom to shower. My husband came upstairs and sweetly said, "I've been craving ice cream. Do you want ice cream?"
He's lucky there was a door between us, because he was getting toddler tantrum glares. Don't offer me things I can't eat right now!3 -
I weigh everything, enter it into MFP and sit down to eat... then my kid steals some of it. I should be happy at the greater deficit, but inner toddler is anal af and, after having a massive strop, has to recalculate and relog.7

All of This! All me, all the time.4 -
Inner toddler is PMSing and wants to eat all the things! It's so bad and I'm so ravenous with my empty belly syndrome that I looked sideways at my cat and I thought to myself, wow he looks like a furry cheeseburger.7
-
Yup. my inner toddler is needy as hell and constantly whining for validation. "look at me, I kept under my calorie goal today." "Look at me, I lost .4 lbs." "Everyone notice that I didn't eat from the work candy bowl today." I need to put myself in time out and calm the hell down. Hahaha.9

My toddler is a monster in the morning without caffeine.

This morning Spanky got her knickers in a knot because I forgot to defrost a homemade breakfast bar and had to have toast instead. SHUTUP SPANKY!
(My husband deliberately did not ask who I was talking to when I didn't use my inside voice.)
And yeah, all you posters talking about people taking food off your plate after you've weighed and measured! I've been there. Spanky SMASH!!!4 -
LOL @ Spanky.2

Ugh I hope losing the rest of this weight makes me happy in the long term because it sure is a *kitten* in the short term!
Went to Target this morning with the express purpose of getting a "motivation" swimsuit. I figured I'd buy one just a little too small - I'm taking a cruise later this year and wanted a visual reminder of what I'm doing and why. I COULD. NOT. STAND. to look at myself in the swimsuits. I tried a variety of styles and even ones that actually fit. Its so gross! I wish I didn't think that way but I do! I left empty-handed.
So tonight I'm going to a movie and to get drinks after with friends I haven't seen in awhile! Happy occasion, yes? NOPE! I'm almost dreading it because I almost always lose control when I drink and eat a ton. So Melinda - what I've named my inner toddler for absolutely no reason - both wants to go YAY BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and wants to make an excuse to stay home! I WILL BE GOING! AND I WILL BE STICKING TO MY PLAN DANGIT! *sticks tongue out at Melinda*2 -

(I have no idea what size or shape you are so just throwing this out there) Have you looked at vintage-style swimsuits? They are very popular right now and flatter a variety of figures! Both one-piece and two-piece.
Enjoy your night out!1 -
Thanks! Target did have a nice variety of vintage and that'll probably be what I end up going with. I guess I was hoping to not still hate my body so much as I have lost about 40 pounds in the past year but there's no denying I'm still fat when I'm in a swimsuit!
Ah well, while looking better is part of the reason I'm doing this it is not the primary reason: I'm in better shape - and most likely better health - than I was a year ago and getting better everyday. Ultimately I keep reminding myself I have nothing but time!

This thread is awesome.
My inner toddler got aggravated at my husband last night because I was hangry and he didn't have dinner ready for me when I got home an hour early from work. He threw a granola bar at me and told me to go to my room until dinner - LOL
My poor husband and my dieting hangryness8
