 :explode: :explode: This plateau has been going on for almost 6 weeks, I have to say it's starting to get real annoying. After loosing only 19lbs I am stuck at 210.2, I started a new dvd workout, but this is crazy, I can not imagine the body just gets stuck like this and I am still eating right. I was tryinging to be optimistic but honestly its real annoying.

6 weeks was my longest plateau! I had to change my eating which effects my body the most. I tried the Dukan Diet attack phase - high protein/low carb and it worked! Plateau busted. I also think clean eating and kick butt workouts may work too but may take a little longer!0

Mine was about 7 weeks long. For me the key was to look at my goals and reassess. I ended up slowing my weight loss down per the pound/week loss setting on MFP. By doing this, I upped my calories and the weight started coming off again, albeit slower than before the plateau.
I know how much plateaus suck. Be strong, patient, and keep going!0 -
4 weeks. I too upped my calories and started losing slower then dropped them again. WHy not open your diary so we can offer some suggestions? "Eating right" doesnt necessarily mean you arent eating too many processed foods, hidden sodium foods, maybe a little high in carbs, ect. There are alot of people on here who have busted plateaus and they changed their eating habits during it.0

6 months and counting... haha. I think it's less of a plateau at this point and more like I'm basically on maintenance. I could take things up to the extreme and probably start losing again, but I don't want to be a diet hermit and I'm already at my goal (altho I'd love to get down a bit more to 140).0

I was pushing 2 months, if not more! So stick with it, change up your food and routine while still staying within your goals. It will happen eventually....0

probally 4 1/2 months!! and in the end it knocked me off my game,i tried EVERYTHING.....thats why i have put on about 20 lbs grrrr...BUT hey i think i am back on the game now(that sounds soooo wrong)lol0

I feel like I am always stuck - i know most of this is mental, but it feels that way. Its taken me over a year to lose 57 lbs. I mean seriously? Thats like less than 5 lbs a month. Most of it I lost the first 4 months....the rest of the year has been slow. I know I shouldnt compare to others - but everyone else seems to lose so fast. Enough of my pity party - time to kick it up a notch!0

I am at a 6 week plateau myself yet I have not found a way to beat it:sad: looking forward to responses on how to push through a plateau.0

Okay when you guys say change your food, what where you changing your foods to? Like more protein etc? I get changing the workout routine, but what ways can you change your food to help get this weight off.0

I've been floating around the same weight since October. Some months I am down a few lbs, others I am up a few.
I have lost over 45lbs to date, so I try to be positive about where I am today.
If you are only eating 1200 base, you probably need to up your calories.0 -
6 months & counting darnnnnnn0

I'm going on 2 months+
I've put on some decent muscle and haven't lost too many inches and I'm down 1 lb. I definitely look better but it would be nice if the scale thought so too.0 -
6 + months...zig zagging calories has helped but i halted my own progress by being naughty in May with poor food choices and minimal exercise0

Last summer! I lost 10 pounds between the end of March and early June and then hit a wall, and the scale didn't seem to budge until probably late August or early September when I found MFP and started C25K. Thankfully I could feel the difference in how my clothes was fitting and in the mirror, though minor, it was enough to keep me going.0

4 YEARS!!! i had the mirena IUC , once the periods stopped the weight just piled on nothing worked despite healthy eating and being active i gained, not really muscle but gained fat, and id fight the same 10 lbs back and forth every month despite not changing things it came back. turns out there are far more than 5% of women who have the more sever side effects including the weight problem with mirena than was stated. theres a class action law suit against it being built because its highere than 5% of women. i got mine out last week and have gotten past that 10 lbs and its continuing to drop, nearly 1 lb a day now, i just wiegh daily and only put it on here if i have lost any. are you on the mirena birth control as well? that could explain it. but if thats not the case see the dr, have him test your blood sugar levels AND THYROID LEVELS!!!! if theres a problem with your thyroid that could explain why it wont come off. keep your head up, and pay more attention to the mesurments on your body and how your feeling and fitting into clothes. this site has made a huge difference for me this time around, tracking things so closely, and the support on here is even more than in RL. and this time i am proudly not on any diet pills at all!0

I'm in month four of this plateau. I've been flucuating 3 lbs during this entire time. Drives me nuts.0

About 6 months..shifting to losing/gaining 5 pounds (Binging once a week doesn't help, hoping to overcome that). I've been seeing myself in the 180s for like 4 months maybe? I was also on one for 2 weeks last summer and kept my patience. Still did a lot of walking, and watch watched my portions (before counting calories) It came off.0

I was on a month plateau. I started the 17 day diet which is high protein and low carb and it helped push me through it and I started losing again. I have lost almost 15 pounds since May 1st (when I started 17DD) for a total of 38 pounds. I also work out 5-6 days a week:-) Good Luck! I hope you find something that works for you.0

150 days, just coming out of it these last 2 weeks. Switch it up, add or decrease calories, add or increase exercise, change the exercise type0
-
I've had several periods of 6 month plateaus. Considering it took me 2 years to lose my first 40lbs, my pace was slow! Be patient and re-evaluate your calorie intake and exercise routine. Try changing things up to push your body.0

I am working on month #3 in about a week, I bounce around the same 5 pounds. I have increased the intensity of my workouts and have also started taking supplements when this plateau started. I can definitely tell a difference in my body composition, but I also haven't lost anything on measurements or the scale. I have a Body fat% monitor which has been going down but it is too inconsistent to trust. I don't really care if I lose any more weight I just want the last bit of fat to be gone! I have thought about upping my calories also in case I was putting myself into starvation mode even though MFP doesn't say so. But I have also read weight loss and muscle gain is almost impossible to achieve at the same time. I just wish I knew what was going on.0 -
Mine was going on 4 weeks. I upped my calories - I had been maintaining a 1000 to 1200 daily deficit but went to just a 400 a day deficit. Within a couple days I dropped 2.5 pounds! After another week I dropped another pound (that was this morning actually!). Now I'm going to slowly start increasing my deficit again back to 1000ish.
The only food changes I made is upping my protein. I already ate 100g a day, but I have added in a protein shake now which adds another 30g.0
