Hi everyone! I'm not really here to make a drastic change because I'm quite healthy as it is (currently at 114lbs, workout 4x a week and go horse riding 3x a week). I'm aiming to be a professional flat jockey so only really need to lose 3-4 lbs, and this website/app just helps me keep track. So, as a result, I'm intending on being here for everyone else if you need any motivation and/or help. Feel free to add me. I've produced for myself a cookbook for jockeys (they basically survive on less than 1000kcal a day) and I will be making a second (upgraded) version so if anyone wants it then I can send it to you.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Are you advocating eating under 1000 cal a day? Isn't that against MFP rules?1

Hi, I don't want to be rude and I'm sorry if I come across that way but I didn't actually say that I eat less than 1000kcal a day nor that anyone should eat less than 1000kcal a day. I simply said that most jockeys do because it is the easiest way to keep weight down. A lot of them are uneducated in eating the right foods which are most nutritious. That's why I made the cookbook, so that jockeys can understand that they can keep weight down without starving themselves.
Thank you for you feedback though, I do appreciate it

Yes they are, which is wrong. The rules of racing put so many restrictions on weight that jockeys don't know how to correctly keep weight down. Like I said before I'm trying to change that. Oh and I am nowhere near anorexic, I eat so much food, I'm surprised I'm not the size of a house.

Believe it or not, there are people who are very small, my sister is one of them 5' 95 pounds. She eats under 1200 calories and is a lot healthier than I am. She is one of the people that eat to live, unlike me, who lives to eat. The OP is not advocating eating under 1200 calorie. She wrote a cook book and is offering recipes to help people here. These recipes could be helpful to many people. No one is saying you have to just eat 1000 calories.

Which is great if you are a jockey, however I see more times in a day than I would like people advocating VLCD or trying some crazy diet they heard about in the pursuits to lose weight as fast as possible. Unfortunately OPs help may be very unhelpful or possible dangerous to the majority of MFP.
OP, with all sincerity, best of luck to you in your endeavors!

I didn't say the OP was. I was answering that as she was a jockey she would know what she was doing.0 -
I'm sorry to say that I'm failing to understand how my help is dangerous... Again, like I said before I am not saying anyone should eat less than 1000kcal a day, in fact I discourage it as it's unhealthy, I eat way more than 1000kcal a day, if I didn't I would probably be in hospital with severe malnourishment. Also, you haven't actually seen the recipes in my cookbook or the cookbook as a whole so you can not comment. All of the recipes there would make most jockeys wince they have so many calories. All I did was simply state a fact so that everyone had a little bit of background information as I'm introducing myself.

Well, she would know how to keep in the weight range for her profession.
This is one of the things I really dislike about MFP. People knowing what is best for EVERYONE. 1200 is a general number for a very large number of women of all sizes, heights, weights and ages.
There are a number of professions with people that are anorexic, as well as in the general public. The OP is not condoning this health issue, or advocating a VLCD. She is offering recipes that could help a lot of people. LIGHTEN UP A LITTLE BIT. NO ONE IS CONDONING A VERY LOW CALORIE DIET1
