I found mine in junior high. Going on 25+ years now. Quality over quantity.

Anywhere with people that have a common interest as you.
Most of my friends I went to high school with. But I met a really good friend on here. Just sucks that we literally live on opposite sides of the country.

    Five Best Friends?

John - Met him in the Marine Corps in the 70's
Curtis - Met him in the Marine Corps in the 70's
Mike - Met him at my first job after getting out of the Marine Corps in the 70's
Dwight - Met him at work in the 80's
Donnie - Met him at work in the 90's.

Still see the first three annually.
Still see the 4th once a month at Cigar night which I host.
See Donnie every week. We ride together.

Most of the guys I ride with take their girls or wives. Donnie and I are the only exceptions, so we usually share hotels, motels and such. Guy is solid.

I put notices up on telephone polls around town seeking friends. I have those little tabs so people can tear off my phone number and call me.

    So far, nothing.

I think good friendships are something that materialize over time and you don't really find them...the friendship somehow finds you.

I met my best buddy shortly after I left the military...I was hanging out with my cousins a lot and this guy hung out with them a lot and over time we became pretty good friends and eventually college roommates. We both see each other pretty regularly...our kids are the same age and in fact both of our eldest share the same exact birthday.

I have another good friend that I only see about once or twice a year these days, but every time we get together it's like no time at all has passed...in college I worked at a package liquor store and he did as well and we just hit it off.

My wife and I's best couple friends bought my best buddy's old house...but that's not how we met though I knew of who they were. They owned a gym and lost their lease and had to rent space at the gym I was currently working out in. I saw "K" working with some clients on Oly lifting which was something I used to do and wanted to get back into...he found a slot for me and he started training me. Through the months, a more personal friendship developed with both he and his wife and we've been really good friends going on about three years...traveled together as families to Colombia last May and we all get together once or twice per month. We were just talking the other day about the fact that had they not lost the lease (which was a real down point for them), it's likely we would have never met and became such good friends...interesting how life works, because it's hard to imagine life without them.

Nothing? I think thats a great idea so I'm surprised. So far I've tried Craigs list, but when I meet my new friends it gets pretty weird real fast.

Maybe its because instead of using only numbers, I use letters, too. My number is 213-STD-FREE
