Can someone please tell me how many calories I've eaten in pasta? I used two different types in the past 2 days and the difference in calories is extreme, I can't work out if they mean the weight once cooked or after.

https://groceries.asda.com/product/pasta-tubes-shells-spirals/asda-penne/1297771

I weighed 75g of dry pasta and this says when cooked will make 180g and be 280 cal.

Today, this pasta I used says allow 100g Of pasta for each person. It never specified dry or cooked. Anyway I assumed it meant dry and I weighed 100g dry. This says 147 cal for every 100g.

Why is the calorie difference so large? Have I been weighing wrong?

Thanks

Pasta is to be measured dry. The reason is once cooked it will weigh differently depending on how long and how much moisture it has held.

So does it sound about right that 100g of dry pasta would be around 150 calorie?

Dry pasta will always be in the region of 360 calories per 100g

Cooked pasta will always be in the region of 150 calories per 100g

the link you provided specifically says cooked:

    Typical values
    (cooked as directed) Per 100g - 155kcal
    (cooked as directed) Per 180g - 280kcal
then in the instructions: 75g dry pasta typically produces 180g of cooked pasta.

which pasta did you make today that didn't have the cooked/raw data on it?
