I had my calorie budget set at about 1650 calories a day. I rarely ever reached 1400 and I'm not losing as much as I hoped. About 1/2 lb a week.. So I brought down my budget to 1470 calories a day. I'm about 167lbs, 6.1 ft. My goal is at least 155lbs. Is it a good idea for me to lower my budget?

The closer you get to goal, the less deficit you want to create. I wouldn't recommend going more than 500 below your BMR. Sometimes, too much deficit can backfire. And watch for other factors that can slow your weight loss, like sodium, drinking plenty of water, other nutrients besides just calories.

Wow that's true.. I never really though about it like that. So did you basically just focus all on strength training and building muscle?

yes... i bulked from 170lbs-205lbs (actuly lost fat in the process, and held it better..) then did a month n half cut (lost lots of muscle so it was a fail but oh well) thats the only way to do it man.. promise you will like ur body alot more the second you start strengh training and trying to bulk.. especially at your height.. and sience low weight already that means your metabolism is good n healthy..

i actuly have a friend a asian guy.. hes 6'1 and weights like 165lbs.. n he keeps just running on the treadmill saying his fat.. and still looks thin n fat n he wont listen to me that he needs to put on muscle first...

um depends have you been lifiting weights already? i read alot of books before i decided which workout to go with..

as for foods.. yeah try to eat clean cals, carbs, fats, proteins.. for me at 187lbs now to bulk i need to eat atleast 4500cals.. so what i do now is add COLD PRESSED extra virgin olive oil, 2tbsp to each protein shake and it help me get cals up.. this olive oil has good fats in it and it actuly helps loose fat as it raises testostrone.. eggs are good, chicken breast are good, cottage cheese, lots of milk, lots of water, creatine,

I personally think you aren't eating enough. Not eating enough will cause weight loss to stall.

    I'm a 5'6" woman and I eat 1400 a day......and I'm losing .5 to 2.5lbs a week. As a 6'1" man, I would think you'd need to be eating quite a bit more than me.

Also, I've heard men shouldn't consume less than 1500 net calories a day. This is the amount typically needed for basic life functions. Eating less can startle your body into 'hoarding' what you do eat and you won't lose weight.
