Hi everyone, I'm new to tracking on this app. I seem to constantly be coming short on my carbs but my calories are usually pretty bang on. Any suggestions on foods with lots of carbs that aren't too high on calories? Is there such a thing? Thank you!!!

You don't have to hit your carbs, especially if you're using calories on fats and proteins. Of the 3 macros, carbs are the least vital to health. Many people change up their macro rations to up the protein and dial back the carbs (and I'm not even talking about going low carb)2

Agreed: don't change your diet to add more carbs. If you prefer more fat/protein, that's just fine.0

I disagree carbohydrates r the easiest for of energy for your body to use I would suggest watching ur energy levels and try getting in ur carbs with complex such as oatmeal over simple. All 3 macros r important none more than the other it's just different % depending on goals!0

That's the thing, though. The standard % for carbs in MFP is 50%. That's a lot. Being a little under that isn't a problem. This person didn't say NO carb, just "not hitting 50%".1

The mfp standard of 50% is the U.S. government standard of 50% established by a law written by a senator from a state which produces prodigious amounts of [guess what]. Since when, really, do we care what the law of the U.S. says? Speed limits? Drugs? Taxes? Come on, you, if you say you scrupulously obey laws, are a snowflake.0

I didn't realize they had said following standard setting. I personalized my macros n found if I do not hit my goal energy n mood dip. Which is y I stated to watch energy levels if manageable then good but if low it's a place to look at. Also If "no carb" I don't think they would be worried about meeting goal.0

Yeah, my advice is on the basis that MFP's auto macros are very heavy on the carbs - I found it restricted the amount of protein I could fit in my day, which I find more satisfying.0

Unless someone is doing a low carb diet, most people aim to hit or exceed their protein & fat numbers, and let the carbs fall where they may.0
