Has anyone started crossfit recently and having trouble dieting ?
Or has everything been easier since you started?
Thanks for the input.

I started crossfit a week back and it is getting difficult to stay within my calorie goal. I feel so hungry I could eat an elephant!1

Yeah I feel the same way. I'm trying to say strict on my eating and avoiding bad carbs. I just feel some days it's tough due to my energy level.
How many days a week are you working out ?0 -
I'm aiming for 5 days of crossfit and a 10 km run on Sundays. But I do realize maintaining 6 days is tough...(there's work and friends and everything else which requires time). I'm ok with 5 days of workout also.0

Are you using the MFP calorie goal?
If so you are supposed to eat back your exercise calories.
Not doing so can cause lethargy, a higher than needed loss of muscle, and perhaps other long term problems depending on your calorie goal and deficit.
There is no such thing as bad carbs. Aim for a diet that both satiates and fulfils your nutrition goals. No food is off limits unless medically designated or you identify it as a trigger food.
Make sure your deficit matched your weight loss goal. If you have less than 50 lbs to lose 1lbs a week is good.

Hey Thanks for this... yes I'm using MFP calorie goal. I've heard mixed opinions about eating exercise calories back, so Im a bit skeptical. I lost a little over 60 lbs over a period of one year through diet and exercise. I now have to lose 5-6 lbs more but really struggling. The scale hasn't budged for 3 months now!!0

I started CF about 6 months ago, we had a programmer that was very leniant (which I now know but didnt at the time). About 1 month ago we had a new manager/programmer and since he joined I am struggling and it was something that came up with a few members. I do stay within my calorie limit but don't use exercise against my daily allowance, for two reasons.
1) Its very difficult to accurately summarise calorie burn when crossfitting as you know some WODs might be 10 mins some might be 30 and the burn rate will be different.
2) The days I don't crossfit I want to try and keep consistency day by day and if I eat more on days I train it is harder for me to eat less on the days I don't (I hope that makes sense).
ps. I'm loving crossfit at the moment, its so addictive....
pps. I have my first attempt at Murph tomorrow.2 -
yes, it makes perfect sense. I also try to maintain consistency. More on training days and less on non training ays approach does not seem to work with me.
PS: Its only been a week, but I love crossfit too!!0 -
