im completely torn.

weighing in daily lets me think i can "cheat" and go outside my budget.
weighing in frequently keeps me on my game and in check.
weighing in once a week gives me a larger ((and more accurate)) number.
weighing in once a month makes me lose focus but i love not living by a number.

ive only just begun my journey -- day 3 -- and i want to weigh-in soo badly. but i want to wait and weigh-in weekly. see i need to SEE the change, not just feel it. so should i just weigh myself every few days or suck it up and wait the week??

I weight once a week and record it. I may weigh once or twice more during the week if I feel that I need to see that I am on track. In the end you have to do what works for you. Obsessive weighing usually just creates more problems than you want.

I don't I decided to go by the "mirror" and Pictures...to much pressure with a scale.

Eat right and exercise and it will come off.....but it takes time and it can be frustrating at times, but you must keep going, it is a lifestyle change, not a place from point a to b.

So I wish you luck, keep a good log, and remeber you are doing this for yourself and your health!! We are here to help!

Once a week. The day I go see my personal trainer. She keeps my records for me!

When I first started I was weighing daily so I could get an idea of what my body was up to. I still jump on the scales most mornings but have only one official weigh in day a week (Sunday morning).
  • I weigh in every day I go to the gym & I go 4-5 days a week. I hop on the scale before and after my cardio. You would be surprised how much your weight changes after 45 minutes of fast moving cardio. I do this to make sure I'm drinking enough water during my workout. I've lost almost 2lbs during a workout before, naturally it was water weight. The official weigh in is once a week though.

I weigh in officially once a week, on sat morning, just had my first weigh in! but i do jump on the scales once or twice through the week just to see my progress which is ok i think if you don't let it influence you (e.g) eaten worse cause you think you've done good or bad. think the most reliable is ance a week samish time samish clothes xx
  • I have been following a healthy eating plan since last Sunday and have not gotten on the scale since. I havr taken my measurments 3 times and have lost cm which makes me just as happy. I tink I'm ready to face the scale and will weigh in weekly.

    I weigh myself every day.

Try to weight yourself in the morning. Wake up, use the bathroom, take off your clothes, and step on the digital scale

Every day for me too. It helps me to stay focused. I don't get upset when it says a gain. It makes me aware. I only record when I show a loss for 3 days or more. To each his/her own.

You'll find what works for you... and I agree it's a forever lifestyle change. Healthy, strong & happy!

Did you just have a baby? im guessing you did on your signature, anyway i have a baby ( 3 other children too) she is 4 months and because of fitness pal i finally am losing the baby weight, ( i was eating 1200 calories but way too much carbs) I dont even like weighing myself weekly! But it does keep you on track, if i know ive lost ill weigh sometimes. To stay on track weigh weekly and measure bi-weekly , Thats what I do. :glasses:

Pictures are the best! Pictures dont lie, and you can compare them from the week before and look at your different body parts to see the change, ive done this before. They will make you happier than the scale!

I think Pics are a good Idea but I weight in weekly
  • As a couple other posters said, I officially weigh-in once a week. However, I do weigh myself more often (probably 3-4 times) to make sure I am on track. I think sometimes though it has to do with self-control. If I can keep myself off the scale for a week, I can keep my calories at 1200, does that make sense?
