Half marathon for me. I ran a half on new years day and had planned to run a full in may, but I just couldn't make the time for the longer runs required int he marathon training. So Im doing 10ks and halfs this summer. Much easier to maintain those distances and not kill a complete day off with running and the tiredness that comes with a 20 mile run.

After I run Pittsburgh next month and Ragnar Relay in June, I'll be working on my fall BQ try. I won't start the 'plan' until sometime in July but pretty much everything I do between now and then will be geared toward that effort. Hopefully we can get the temps to be a bit more moderate this year. Last year was hot in the eastern US.

1/2 marathon for me on April 30th. From there I'll move into 5k mode with emphasis on improving time through the hotter months, then I'm looking at another 1/2 in November. As much as I'd love to do a full, it's tough for me to make the time for long runs on the weekends.

I have a 12 Hour, followed by two 10Ks, in three weeks, Marathons in June and July with a back to back 12 Hour and Marathon in September and a final back to back Marathon and Half in December.

I have a 10K in April and a 1/2 marathon in September. This is my first two races, so it will be a little scary :)

I'm training for a half marathon. I'm on week 5. I don't have any races planned. I want to see if I can handle the higher mileage without getting hurt. I'm going to repeat the training and possibly run the Rock and Roll half in September.

I've got two half-marathons planned in May (may end up just being one depending on Memorial Day weekend) and another in June and September.

I have a sprint duathlon in August. I do it every year. I wouldn't be able to do a marathon...I've started training already which is earlier than previous years, so I'm hoping to beat last years time...

  • I did a half last Saturday, have another one in September and my first full marathon in November. It will be my first full. bit of an understatement to say I'm nervous.

Training through the heat of the summer sets you up to crush a fall marathon. I ran my BQ in Columbus, OH in October. 28F at the start and mid 50s at the finish after training in the heat all summer long made it feel like a breeze.

I just completed my first half earlier this month and am looking at doing another in October. Right now I am taking it easy on my runs so that I can adjust to running in the heat.

Wanted to, but didn't heal up fast enough. I'll be rebuilding my base this summer, probably start marathon training late summer/early fall.

I'm training for a 25K again hoping to beat last year's time, been a rough training season though. I'm going to train over the summer to run my first marathon!! Can't wait to kick butt in October! This is going to be so much fun! :)

I went into marathon training mode in late December, ran Boston on Monday, and now I'm in recovery mode. Tentatively thinking my next marathon will be in September, which backs the training cycle up to late May or early June to get serious again. Then in September I'll have to decide whether I'm running Boston again next year.

If you don't jump off, the cycle never ends.

Yay for Chicago! I've ran it twice. Not looking to run a marathon until next year and hoping to BQ the year after. I should find some half to run. Might just train through this year and race next.

I'd love to do Boston, but I'd have to knock like 2+ hrs off my best time...lol!

I'm thinking of diving into half marathon training for one in October and not looking forward to start training in the humid summer heat. I also work 6 days a week and will have to dedicate my life to work and running to be successful. If there's a will, there's a way for me!

I've got a half booked for November. My training runs are up and down Heartbreak Hill which is as close as I'm ever going to get to running Boston.

I've started building my base for NYC in November. My actual plan doesn't start until June some time. Through the Summer months I'm probably going to have to get most of my week runs knocked out really early before my husband leaves for work so I can leave the baby with him, this has the added bonus of missing the really hot temps!

Im training for a marathon in september, but im also doing one in July. July was suppose to be half marathon, BUT my partner cant do it and I know people doing the full (they plan on walking most of it) so Im going to start with them, then when they slow, im going to continue on, no big goals with that one, just want to finish it in under 7 hours and come out uninjured, but my september one is the one i have bigger goals with and im training with 2 coworkers.

Maui Marathon in October, the day after my 50th birthday. It's my birthday gift to myself. I was an avid runner/cyclist/triathlete until 2015, then suffered two non-sports-related injuries (and a minor surgery) that kept me sedentary (and frustrated!) until early this year. Currently up to 3 mile runs and 10-12 miles per week. 6-week base building starts May 1, followed by 18-week training plan to get me to Race Day. Using "No Meat Athlete" Marathon training plan. Have several smaller races in between, starting with my first 5K in 3 years on 5/5.

The biggest challenge for me will be not to get caught up in wishing I was where I was 2 years ago, fitness wise, and enjoying running for the sake of running. I'm nowhere near the 4-hour time I wanted to achieve then, so I need to stay focused on being consistent with training and simply happy that I can still do this and finish, no matter what the time!
