Congrats! Just keep going & follow the program as written, you will do great!1

I finished Week 5 Day 3 yesterday! Stick to it and you'll do great!4
-
Good job, remember that you can repeat if needed. I repeated most of the advanced weeks at least twice.1
-
That's awesome, congratulations! Stick with it as written, have fun with it and be kind to yourself in the process. Epsom salt baths and foam roller work wonders.2

I just finished day 1 of week 2 a couple hours ago. I'm doing it on the treadmill but I'm really enjoying it so far! I feel like I might have to repeat days as the running time increases, but no big deal. I really want to be able to run/jog 5k3
-
Make sure that you run slower than you think you need to, especially if you start faltering on later weeks. Do it! Congrats on the choice :flowerforyou:2

I did Week 2 Day one this morning! I'm really enjoying it so far. I even made a running shoe purchase.3

I'm on week 7! I absolutely love C25K! Make sure you get fitted properly for running shoes. They made a HUUUUGE difference in my stamina and recovery. I cannot stress that enough- wear good shoes!3

Finished week 6 day 1 I love this program, always recommend it . Keep at it!2
-
Did it 7 years ago. It changed my life. Keep it up!2

Starting week 3 day 1 tomorrow. It's a good program and I enjoy the progression.2

Week 2 day 1 is tomorrow for me

I've just completed week 7 by doing a full 25 minutes "running" (around 4.8mph)....and I'm currently around 222lbs!!
I haven't followed the plan religiously but it certainly is an excellent guide.2 -
Did mine two years ago, and like mandabeth, it changed my life. I'm so glad you're enjoying it - running is awesome.
Just make sure you're running slowly - you need to build your stamina and get into the rhythm of it first. And don't be afraid to repeat weeks, if you have to.
Good luck!2 -
Congrats!
I hit my first wall at five minute intervals. Who knew that five minutes was an eternity?!?!
Perseverance paid.3 -
I've just finished Week 4 and I'm really enjoying it, which was a total surprise for me as I've always hated running! I'm a little bit worried about the upcoming Week 5 day 3 though, but I will try my best and just keep going!
Have fun OP, let us know how you find it!2 -
I just finished week 8!! What a game changer that is. I think back to the start and 90 seconds was going to be the death of me. Now, I can bust out 30 minutes and while still a challenge, I don't feel like my heart and lungs want to jump ship. LOL! Keep it up! Best program I've done in a long time!!
@staceymorton5 I read a bunch of hype with week 5 before I did it, but just stick with it. It'll challenge you, but bust it out. Most of it ended up being mental for me. Once you get into week 6 you'll be like "week 5 who?"7 -
I'm on week 7 and what I thought was very challenging in week 2, etc now is a cake walk. It is a great program. It may seem very intimidating reading the prescribed day before you begin, but to look back on what you accomplished weeks later is one of the best feelings. Just follow their recommendations and listen to you body. Good luck!2

I hated running. I did week 5 day3 this morning, and enjoyed doing it. I ran a mile and a half yesterday, just as transportation, and enjoyed myself too. I really like it!2

I run barefooted or in moccasins most of the time, lol. Then again, I don't put on shoes all summer if I can help it3 -
I just finished week 5 yesterday. Here are few of things I feel are important:
Good shoes. Must have good shoes!!
Breathing is very important. I recommend you research running breathing techniques and trying them out. It makes a world of difference.
I live in the south so not sure it this applies to you, but do not run when it is 85+ degrees outside.
Run slow. Struggling to breathe is your #1 indicator that you are running too fast. Plus you'll get that nasty side stitch.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate... Can't say this too much.
Repeat workouts you find challenging.
Schedule your workouts and stick to the schedule, no excuses.
And by far the most important thing is to take pride in every step you take.
Hope this helps3 -
I'm considering starting this program myself, and this post is really making me lean heavy with beginning it in a few weeks.
My last 5k I ran back in March, I timed out at 33.38, so I am hoping this program wont be too tough on me.2 -
Way to go runners!1

I think it's a good tool to keep yourself moving forward even if you don't follow it as intended. I've been completing the early weeks as instructed, but finishing off the 5k at my own pace after I finish the workout because some of the later weeks look like they're pretty big jumps. I'm doing it on a treadmill and some good music and the right strain of pot have been the keys to sticking with it.3

Congratulations runners!
I did the C25K program (using the Zen Labs app) last year and have kept at it. Just did a 5K in 27:32, which isn't very impressive to anyone but me. I'm jazzed just to get under 9min/mile!
I've given this advice a lot:
1) Don't feel bad going back to a prior workout as many times as you need to if the next one feels too hard. Working up your running takes a long time.
2) Never stop doing intervals. Once you can jog the entire 5K, create fast/slow intervals to get faster. Intervals can be walk/run or jog/run.3 -
I 'graduated' the program on Good Friday! It felt so good! Now I'm planning on doing a 5K race on April 29th!
(I'm 49, started the program at over 200lbs, and I had a total hysterectomy back in August. If I can do it, you can, too!!!)6 -
Jthanmyftnesspal - 27 mins for a 5K is amazing and impressive to most of us. I've only managed a 5K possibly times and my fastest is 35 mins!!3

I tried the first C25k workout about a month ago and found that I couldn't even do the second full minute of running. So I designed a "Bed to Couch" program for myself to get me ready for C25k. It's going great!
Right now I can do all eight one-minute runs, with 3 minutes walking intervals between. I'm slowly reducing the duration of the walk intervals. I'm pretty sure I could do the first C25k workout now, but I want to take it slow and easy, so I'm being patient.
I expect to be ready for C25k on the first of June.9 -

I'm about to download the app... However, I really hate running/ jogging. I did a 5k in just over 45 min a couple of years ago (no training, oops) and I hated it, but I really need to work on my cardio... So here I am (assuming I don't chicken out)1
