I tried dozens of times until it finally stuck. I was fat every day for 5 years... hating being fat and trying to lose, but I didn't really understand how to. But I kept persisting, reading these message boards, and getting information everywhere and trying lots of things. Last year is when I finally had that 'a ha' moment where I could do it. And I've lost 53 lbs so far, still on my way to 65.

There is no failing - if you keep trying, and not quitting outright, you'll lose your pounds. The end date just keeps going out farther and farther is all.

If you try to lose 30lbs in 3 months, but at the end of 2 months, you've only lost 5lbs, that is NOT a failure. It's a success - you lost 5lbs. Your time frame was too aggressive. Keep it up, and maybe at the end of 4 months you'll lose 10lbs. You'll eventually get there, just don't give up.

Giving up is the only 100% guaranteed way to fail.
