I believe you are more defined by things you deny yourself than things you do. I spend a lot of time outdoors, and I play tennis. I work in education so I don't make a lot of money, but I've been smart with what I do have and look to retire earlier than most so I can focus on more important things. I am a geek/nerd, immensior. I guess I don't look like it though so that surprises people. I f-in love science. At one point I had a high IQ, but I took a test recently and I am much dumberer. I am okay with that. I am also fatter, and that is okay too. I can fix just about anything, and regularly do. I can get along with almost anyone.3

I spent the first 26 years figuring out who the hell I am.
I spent five of those years in California (they didn't know who I was either).
I spent the next 17 years in IT changing the way NY banks.
I spent the last 17 years in IT changing the way NY educates its kids.
I like fusion and progressive jazz, among many other genres.
Legends of the Fall, Shawshank Redemption, Hobbit/LOTR.
I like the wild, quiet places.
I like wooden boats.
I did a lot of hiking when I was younger and part of my MFP mission is to get back on the trail
I have always been a "ladies' man" but at age 57 I finally met the love of my life; third times the charm, if she says yes!
I've always had cats as pets.
I am a secular, progressive liberal.
I am very distressed by what is happening in the US and in the world.

I'm sure you aren't dumber! Just aged like a fine wine and cheese. But less stinky.
I seriously dropped a substantial amount of IQ points. I think I smell decent still...unless you are trying to casually tell me something there.0 -
Got a free ride to an art school out of state when I was in high school...passed it up to get married. Head bouncing off wall right now. ANYWAYS.....I have four grown daughters...3 of the 4 were older child adoptions because I discovered that I deeply love and children deserve every ounce. I am now raising 3 grandchildren at the age of 52 and I am scared shizza-less....I am thrilled by it....I feel honored to wake up every morning and share in the essence of 3 kids who were brought into this world by one of my daughters who walked out of their lives...I love her and hate her at the same time....I love raunchy humor...my smile comes from a very deep place inside me and what else.....oh, I dye my hair because I am not ready not to.1
