Share one or all of your 'So that' statements of why you're getting healthy

I wrote down my “So That” statements. I know some of are sort of shallow, but I’m trying to stay real about it

• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I can be healthy and live a long, healthy life
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I feel lighter and more energetic when I do things such as play with my kids, exercise or just walk up the stair
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT my knees won’t ache when I walk up stairs
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I will have more energy, stamina and sexual drive (for having awesome sex with my husband)
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT when people see me they know I am a person who keeps her word
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I when I shop for clothing I have a wider range of clothing options
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I will be sexually appealing to my husband
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I will believe in myself again and prove to myself that I am capable of changing myself
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I can be an example of successful possibilities, not failure
• I want to lose 123 pounds because it is possible and I want to do the possible things in my life!
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT when I see my parent-in-laws again they will be amazed at the way I’ve transformed my physique (and hopefully be inspired to change too!!)
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT my sister-in-law will feel bad for thinking that I am sloppy and lazy and for thinking that I didn’t have it in me!!!!!
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT when I see my mentor again, she’ll see another excellent accomplishment that I am capable of and be more inclined to hire me for a position at her company
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT I look fit and professional in my dress suits
• I want to lose 123 pounds SO THAT my body won’t bulge out of my clothing
• I want to lose 123 pounds so that I can completely button my dress jackets and other tops

I wanted to get healthy so that my kids would have a good role model and hopefully not grow up with weight issues.2

I want to lose 30 lbs so that I don't have to worry about my stomach jiggling during exercise
I want to lose 30 lbs so I can have my body confidence back
I want to lose 30 lbs because I want to kickstart a lifelong change
I want to lose 30 lbs because I want to look as good as Ernestine Shepherd when I'm 80. (Google her, she's amazing)0 -
I want to lose 25 lbs So That I don't have to take insulin shots. My Doctor told me that I am Pre-Diabetic and if I can lose 10 pounds and stop eating carbs and sugars I won't end up on meds. That's a powerful motivator for me.5

I lost 50 pounds SO THAT I wouldn't be at risk for the diabetes and heart disease that plagued my parents and grandparents.1

I want to lose 55lbs so I can feel comfortable in my own skin again and avoid weight-related health issues1

I want to lose 70 lbs so that I can mentally flip the bird at all the people who laughed at my weight growing up (a lot of them are overweight now)
I want to lose 70 lbs so that I will be happy with myself in photos (I will always be the person behind the camera instead of in front of it)
I want to lose 70 lbs so that I can be healthy1 -
From my profile:
1) To live long enough to finish raising my boys. (They are teens now, so getting closer on this one.)
2) To live long enough to meet my grandchildren. (No pressure, guys!)
3) So I will never fall through another camp chair. :^( (In public and requiring 3 or 4 people to get me out. So far, so good!)
4) So it's easier and less embarrassing to get up from the floor. (Easier weight-wise, but still need to build more strength.)
5) Because 300lbs got wayyy too close. Ditto size 5X. (In 10s and some 8s now. Old apron and spare tire are in the way of size 6. Ditto saddlebags and bat wings.)
6) To get off of some of these meds. (Off the blood pressure ones, but still on statins.)
7) So I will feel better, and feel better about myself! (I do, but the compulsive eating, bingeing, and food/exercise obsession are still painfully prevalent in my life.)
8) So I can maybe go on a hike with hubby if he slows down. (Have been doing this for a while now. Even done some solo hiking. 10.5 miles is my new record.)
9) Because living life sitting in front of a TV or computer is no life at all. (So instead I walk up and down my hall with my tablet in my hands. Slight improvement, I guess.)
10) So I can run faster than the zombies! (Osteoarthritis says the zombies are gonna eat well. :^( )

I want to lose weight so that I like what I see in the mirror. I want to lose weight so that I can get my thigh tattoos I've been dying to get. I want to lose weight so that I can wear half the clothes in my closet, lmao.2

I want to lose 44 more lb so that we have a better chance of getting pregnant.
I want to lose weight so that I can enjoy clothes and shopping again.
I want to lose weight so airplane seats are more comfortable.
I want to lose weight so it is easier to be more active again.
I want to lose weight so that I feel attractive, even though my husband says I still am despite my weight gain since we started dating.2 -
So that I can safely have a baby.1

Similar situation - my job holds an annual blood screening event called "know your numbers". The nurse practitioner called me to her office and said if you do nothing at all to change, next year when you come in to do your blood work, you will be pre-diabetic and need high cholesterol meds. Say what?! That surely woke me up and became my initial "so that".
After that, I got serious and started eating clean and exercising regularly - lost 40 lbs last year and been maintaining my weight since October-ish. My blood work came back with rockstar results in March! No longer at risk!
My "so that" now are (in no particular order):
- So that I can continue to fit in all the expensive new clothes I bought (ladies, you know clothes from WHBM are no joke to replace - $$!)
- So that I never have to hear from the nurse practitioner that my own actions are putting my health at risk
- So that I continue to feel confident and comfortable in my skin (my psoriasis is clearing up significantly due to the clean eating and exposure to sun regularly)
- So that my husband continues to say how proud he is of my transformation and that I inspire him to get healthier
- So that my dog continues to have his walking companion because I've made 30+ minutes of daily exercise a habit (vet says my dog is the healthiest beagle he's ever seen!)
- So that I can safely continue to advance my health and fitness goals to see what my capabilities and limits really are (running my first marathon on Sunday!)
- So that I can fully enjoy my annual backpacking adventures with my sister without being out of breath or otherwise miserable from lack of routine exercise (I had a fabulous time hiking Zion!)
- So that I can continue to be a positive influence on others who are on the same journey as me (no statistic - I am NOT gaining back that weight!)
Thanks for the "so that" question. I was having a miserable day and was eating everything in sight for whatever reason. Answering this question just turned my whole mentality around... I think I am going to go for a walk now :-)

I want to lose 5 pounds so that my back fat and stomach rolls go away... and so that my running pace is a little bit faster.
I'm 5' so 5 pounds is a big deal.1 -
Sorry guys the only reason I want to lose 20 lbs is so I'll feel attractive. I just want to be sexy
