Like most, we all have a story. Mine is one of extremes in pretty much everything I do. Unfortunately that has health consequences. Now using those extremes to drive a healthy lifestyle from my rather sedate state to hopefully and athletic one!

So what am I up to?
Exercise - 2 core sessions a week, mostly torso and legs, love cycling so focusing on building muscle density and a great stable foundation for endurance cycling.
Running - 2 x 20mins zone 2 max jogs per week. Hate running , just started so building very slowly to avoid injury and give the body time to adjust. Working so far.
Cycling - so I love cruising on the bike, feels so free!:) putting in around 120km per week, mostly in HR zone 3 and cadence 90rpm.

Diet - now this is the extreme part. Just off the back of Chemo, so going though a total detox for the next 8weeks. No sugar, No carbs, No Dairy, No Soya, No animal protein. So what do I eat, tons of veg, veg juices and humus!:) lost 15kgs since last year, and 5kgs in just the past 4weeks, whilst putting on 1kg of muscle mass. So basically a vegan diet, yes it's hard but after a couple of weeks the cravings for sugar just vanish! Try it! And you start to feel energised! Plus the asthma and dry skin I had has gone! Now why didn't the doctors tell me about that as a great side effect? Hmmm!

Now when it comes to myself I am really lazy! My motivation is getting in shape, and feeling good about myself, and staving off the lifestyle related health issue that seem to plague the modern world.

And my cancer awareness website I started, yes it was a shock to me too but dealing with it, mostly for the fellas who just don't talk about this sort of thing....

Stay strong , be brave, embrace change , and remember there is no such thing as a cheat day, is is just cheating!:D

Love to you all, keep trying! It worked for me!

For anyone in doubt of their own abilities, just keep trying and doing. The hard work will pay off even when it feels like it is not.

Best of luck! I went vegan at New Years after my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer then suffer a mild heart attack midway through her chemo treatments. She is doing great now! I made a personal choice to do what I can today to hopefully prevent chronic health issues.
