Hi everyone! I'm always looking for great running podcasts. I just finished Serial's "S-Town" and before that "Missing Richard Simmons." A great podcast is often highly motivating and makes the run go by faster. If you have a podcast recommendation, whether it's music or a different genre, please post it here! Thanks in advance :-)

Runners World magazine has a couple running related podcasts. I listen when I walk at lunch (can't listen when I run - I require very loud rock & roll for that ).4

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely check em out!0

My favorite podcast is My Favorite Murder.
Stay Sexy!1 -
Podrunner. Music by tempo. My running tempo is about 162bpm1
-
Talk Ultra by Ian Corless2
-
I'm ploughing through trailrunner nation podcasts at the moment (mostly on my commute but sometimes on my runs)
Also the Infinite Monkey Cage.2 -
Thanks for the suggestions!0

"My Dad Wrote a Porno" for comedy
"Sword and Scale" for... well it's intense and slightly scary. Compelling.
"Dr. Drew Podcast" for medical misc education.
I listen to news as well. Might want to look up your favorite radio show and see if they have a podcast.1 -
I like Radiolab, On the Media, More Perfect (a Podcast about the Supreme Court) and Another Mother Runner - although they're switching up the hostesses lately, and there are a few I just really don't like. Here's the Thing with Alec Baldwin is also good.1
-
I like "The Conscious Runner" podcast, it's not music but she interviews runners with interesting stories.0

These aren't running related but they keep my mind distracted when I'm walking: Stuff You Should Know, Freakanomics, Star Talk, On The Media (US Media), the Nerdist.1
-
I second the Freakonomics suggestion. I also listen to Ted Talks, How I Built This, Planet Money, Hidden Brain, and Ben Greenfield1

I love Freakonomics, but for running, I have a playlist of about 50 songs that are all in the range of 180bpm. It helps me with my speed and pacing.1

It not a podcast, but there is an iPhone app (I think it's on android as well) called 'Zombies, run!' It tells you a story as if you are in a zombie apocalypse and running missions for your group of survivors. You can play your music as well which it mixes in while you listen. It also has a feature where it will tell you zombies are near and you have to speed up so they don't catch you. You can turn that bit off though if you like. Although the sound of a groaning zombie in my ear does get me into the 'run like hell' zone I don't particularly like running, but I find the app motivates me to get my *kitten* out of the door just to listen to more of the story.3

Tell Me Something I Don't Know is my favorite podcast0

This week in parastism.1

this week in tech, this week in guns, we like shooting, geeks gadgets and guns, daily tech news, Joe rogan Experience, the runners world podcast, starting strength, various 4x4 related shows, powercast, barbell shrugged, and some misc news podcasts. I don't listen to every episode of every show but pick and choose what I want by the title and description.
obviously not running related but it occupies my brain with things I'm interested in.0 -
I recommend RadioLab and Dan Carlins Hardcore History.
I also use and enjoy audible for books on my run. Currently having fun with Artful, Peter David's unusual extension of the Artful Dodger in a playful Dickensian style.0 -
Sword and scale for intense true crime stories. This American Life is a classic.0

Sword and Scale is so well produced.
I'm not typically a true crime person, but I really enjoy this podcast. It's one of my all time favorites.0 -
Not running related but criminal is great! Each week there's a new "criminal" topic. They always keep it interesting and a lot of the time it's funny/educational. Episodes range from 15-30 minutes usually1

One more running-related podcast:
Final Surge
I have to admit, I only listened to one of them so far (I usually prefer "Zombies, Run!" for entertainment during a run), but the one I heard was interesting. I think they mostly talk to different running coaches each episode; I saw a few names I recognised (Fitzgerald, McMillan, ...)

True Crime - as other said Sword and Scale; Case file. I enjoyed all three of the Breakdown series. Serial. This American Life - some are better than others. If you watch Bravo shows - Watch What Crappens is hilarious. Wait Wait don't tell me.1

This sounds like a trip. I'm totally gonna try this! Thank you0
