Just saying "hello". I've been logging into MFP since last summer. Became serious about loosing this weight (again) last summer when my doctor told me I was part of the "diabetic club"- a club I really, really don't want to be a part of! So I went to visit a dietitian that specializes in diabetes and started logging everything. When I started I was 283. I have done really well-I've lost 89 pounds, started walking, have learned to reduce some stress and brought my A1C down to a normal number of 5.5. I still have around 45 pounds that I need to loose before I reach my "reassess now" goal. I'm not really afraid that I won't get there- I'm hard headed enough to reach a goal once I set one- my fear comes once I stop loosing and then have to start maintaining a healthy weight. I have lost around 90 pounds before and gained it all back. (Wish I had a nickel for all the pounds I have lost in my life time!) I am a pound away for the 90 mark and I guess this number serves as a reminder that I am not good at keeping it off. I have never been part of a forum before (showing my age now) so this is all new to me. Heck, I don't even know if I am doing this correctly. lol! May need to ask stupid computer questions along with getting weight loss/maintenance motivation. Excited to try something new! Excited to meet new people that understand.

Good for you! I've done the same thing in the past. I lost 60 pounds, kept it off for two years and then slowly, but surely, gained it all back. I'm on the path again and am determined to get the weight off and keep it off for good this time. We know what works, right? It's just reminding ourselves that we can never go back to our old eating habits if we want to keep the weight off, but our new eating habits once in maintenance don't have to be boring or deprived, we just have to find that happy medium and always be diligent in dealing with any weight gain. I'll send you a friend request if you'd like to have someone to cheer you on.

Hello, I am new here too, I've lost weight in the past also then put it all back and some after having a baby, I want to get back in shape but don't have a support system as I moved to a new city far from my family so I'm all alone with my toddler while my husband is working all hours! I've been able to lose 23 lbs so far in the past 3 months but it's getting harder and harder, I need to lose another 40 lbs to get to an ideal weight for my height, any help or motivation would be greatly appreciated!
