Before cooking is more accurate. Use an entry for raw though.

Stuff like pasta and rice is the same, weigh dry and use an uncooked entry.

Either is fine, provided you choose a database entry that correlates with raw or cooked weight. I prefer raw in most cases.

either is fine but if you weigh it cooked - you should find an entry that fits how you cooked it...cooked in oil etc

    raw is much easier

    You should weigh raw.

That being said, I don't. I weigh cooked and haven't had any problem with my weight loss. If my weight loss stalls out, I'll re-evaluate.

How do I know if the entries are correct though I see a lot about incorrect logging on the forums

Do specific searches. For example, "USDA Chicken breast, boneless, skinless, raw."

You can double check your entries with the USDA database. I like to type in '(food item) usda' or if I can find it in the USDA database, I use the numerical code associated with the food.

If the chicken is coming from a package, I use the package information. You can also enter your own information if you can't find exactly what you're looking for.

I have to weigh cooked at I cook for others as well.

As mentioned ensure you choose the correct entry and if you are unsure check it against the USDA website.

If you can find a USDA one, use that. Also, the entries with the green checks tend to be more accurate.
Best bet is to pick something that looks accurate, and use that one every time you enter it with adjustments for exact weight. This way you're consistent and if your goals aren't being met it's easier to re-evaluate where you might be going wrong. If you have the app, scanning helps.
