Hello, I've been working on eating a better than I usually do and working out. I was hoping someone could give me some pointers on some workouts I could do to loose weight. I have a dumbbell set, jump rope, and a medium tension resistance band. I'm looking to loose weight, but my problem areas are around my pits, lower stomach area, and upper pelvic area. My left wrist can't support a lot of weight though (ex: push-ups). Also how often I should work out if I'm trying to loose 20 pounds. I'm consuming around 1000-1200 a day depending on if I work that day or not. Any tips are appreciated.

Where did you get that calorie goal for?0

I apologize about the delay in response. When I had put my information into MyFitnessPal it's what it had recommended.

I was originally looking at loosing 40lbs. But I've lost 12 already. So 28now.0

No, I think TavistockToad means what do you have MFP set to for # of lbs to lose per week? 2 lbs? It should be set at .5 lbs a week for as little as you have to lose.
ETA; working out won't necessarily help you lose weight. You have to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Exercise is to make you stronger/more fit.0 -
Ohhh... >_> Thanks for pointing that out. I believe it has me set on 2. How do I check to make sure? Hmm... What's the best way to be in a calorie deficit?0

I just checked and I'm set at loosing 2 lbs. per week.0

I'll fix that. I believe I'm averaging around 1 to 1 1/2 pounds a week right now. I don't over eat or anything and I do bike to and from work 5 days a week; so, that may be keeping it constant.0

Not sure if I should do a separate post for this, but I'll try here first. What are good exercises to do in order to tone my body? Such as my arms, back, abs, thighs, calves, etc. I have some basic knowledge, but I'm not sure if it's the correct ones to really help me. I have been doing squat & press, dumbbell row, frontal and lateral raises, dumbbell fly, bicep curl, overhead tricep extension, calf raise, angled calf raise, lunges, squats, crunches, leg lifts, wall pushups, flutter kicks, bicycle crunches, oblique reaches, starfish crunches, hip raises, superman, fire hydrant, mountain climbers, and jumping jacks. I have a dumbbell set that I use with all exercises up to the crunches. I also have a jump rope and resistance tube. I'm just not too familiar with what would work best or if I am not doing enough. Doing all of these usually gets me around an hour in for working out. Though I don't really do any cardio except for biking to and from work.0
