Hi everyone I'm new. I am on a strict diet and am trying to work out every day. The diet I am trying is called the 5 bite diet and I use the app called 30 Day Fitness... It gives me exercises to do every day for 30 days. Different challenges as well. I'm just having issues staying motivated. I just ordered a scale which should be here in a week so right now I'm not sure what I weigh so I am basically going off what I weighed last time.
I know I rambled but now you know some about me. Ty you all for reading.

Hello! The words "strict diet" made me shudder because all by itself it suggests deprivation and unpleasantness. It doesn't have to be like that. Surf around on these boards and see if you can pick up any inspiration for a weight loss plan that allows you to live. Either way, I wish you much success!1

Isn't that the diet where you only eat 5-bites of food? That's dangerously low calorie. I hope you take some seriously huge bites and don't go below at least 1200 calories a day (and even that is too low for most people).3

Yes it is and when a person is obese aka me eating low calorie is what I need. As far as it being dangerous look at it this way. It's basically doing gastric bypass without the surgery. Which surgery is more dangerous as many things can happen. It's not un healthy to do it. What's unhealthy is my weight.0

Has your doctor evaluated that statement?2 -

So you're under a doctor's supervision for this?2 -
If you put your last weight in to this app it will give you your daily calorie intake trust us when we say it works .
A lot of people on this site have been or are in the same boat as you eat what it tells you and log everything when your scales arrive update you weight by going to settings then update diet/fitness settings hit the update button at the bottom this will give you your new calorie intake .
If you do this every couple of weeks as you lose weight so the amount of calories it gives you will go down as well this is a much safer way to do it and it will help stop you from being hungry all the time so helping you to keep this up .
Don't think of this as a diet but a lifestyle change it takes time but is much easier to maintain than "a strict Diet" will ever be .
good luck with your journey1 -

Why not just reduce the high calorie foods and bulk out on salad and veg instead of such an (imho) extreme method?
Yes, surgery has its own dangers but they are managed and you get support every step of the way, is your doctor supporting you?

Not to long ago, I was morbidly obese. I haven't had to starve myself to lose 141 pounds. There is a lot of experience on this forum. Please take advantage of it.0 -
So...if I'm reading up on diet this right, you're only allowed 10 bites the entire day? No breakfast, and 5 bites each for lunch & dinner?
Look...I'm all about eating anything I want and staying under calories to lose weight, but please reconsider this. All you need to do lose weight is eat less than you burn over time. Starting with your 30 day fitness app is a great idea!
You don't need to rush it, start with small changes to your diet and/or exercise habits and work to get a reasonable calorie goal. I personally lose fine at 1500-1600cals a day before exercise, and I'm 5'7" ~200lbs. I'm still technically obese now, even though I have lost about 40lbs. But it was so simple...not necessarily easy, but simple.
Even individuals who have hundreds of pounds to lose should not eat below 1200cals (1500cals for males) without doctor supervision. You can consume all of the multivitamins, but those do not give you the macronutrients your body needs to function properly. That will make your body very sad.
Put your statistics into this app or whatever app you might use to calculate such things (height, weight, gender, goal, amount of weight you want to lose) and eat what it tells you to eat. You can re-enter your information when you have a scale and can use that as your baseline. Set a reasonable goal (around 1% of your current bodyweight to lose per week) and the weight will come off with relatively little stress. If you are consistent and honest in your logging, the weight will come off. It may take time and effort into figuring out what (and when) you need to eat to stay full and happy, but that's ok! Many of us have been there before!
You can do this, don't resort to the extremes! Good luck!1 -

Absolutely and it doesn't even take that little. I don't know OP's stats but I lost 70 pounds in 3 months eating more than that. BTW, I am certainly not advocating that rate of loss.
OPEN, just eat sensibly and maintain a reasonable calorie deficit and the weight will come off.0 -
To answer everyone's question. Yes I am under doctor supervision. He is the one who told me about this diet and how it works. Haha I still cheat a bit though cause to me eating 10 bites a day is horrible. So in between meals I'll shave some fruit or even a pickle which has no caleries. Now with the 30 day Fitness thing. It's getting easier every day. Some days I'll do two days the same day. Or like today I did two but one was to work out my butt and the other my stomach and it was supposed to be my rest day. (Yes the app even gives you a rest day.)0

I'd flick that doctor and just do MFP. Far easier and you have a greater chance of success. You will only feel deprived on that diet and go back to your old ways. That diet is not sustainable at all...0
